Had this beer on 6/17/2000. Aroma is a lightly roasted malt scent. Color is dark, almost a purple with light carbonation but a fair head. Taste is rich, sweet and toasted. Starting with a medium body that goes down with a sweet sharpness. Finish is a rich sweet feel with a nice nutty roasted flavor this is followed by a mild hop bitterness. This is truly a classic porter.

Bottle. Black clear colour with a nice bubbly and creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, bitter coffee and alcohol. Flavour is roasted, sweet and fruity (plums), bitter chocolate and coffee, alcoholic with a good dryness. Great brew. Sad it is no longer brewed.

This sure had potential. Beautiful dark appearance and aroma of chocolate and coffee, but found it too sweet. The overpowering sweetness mixed with the very prevalent alcohol taste just turned me off on this one. Perhaps it was the burnt flavors as well. Not sure, but perhaps should give a second try.

Split with rickgordon at Restaurant Wojarski, Göteborg. Deep malty Twizzler aroma, raisins, figs, and plum. Bit of chocolate and smoky notes. Mild fruity hops. Dark brown black clear with no head. Heavy body, not quite oily, with mild carbonation. Starts malty and sweet with Twizzlers, raisins, and fig. Worty and warming throughout, with mild sour tang like molasses. No bitterness, but roasted malts, chocolate. Finish is sweet with mild cloying after. Nutty sweet notes, too. Nice mellow porter.

Bottled. A beautiful porter. Soft and smooth with chocolate, licorice and coffee. Rather sweet and roasted.

Chestnut color with a hint of ruby through the light. Tall tan head. Rich malt aromas with cocoa, brown sugar, vanilla and a touch of alcohol. Earthy caramel malt filled the mouth and sticks around to the finish. Mild alcohol upon the exhale. This has held up over time, to bad it is no longer being produced. A real baltic winter warmer.
