Color is dark, almost a purple with light carbonation but a fair head. Taste is rich, sweet and toasted. Starting with a medium body that goes down with a sweet sharpness. Finish is a rich sweet feel with a nice nutty roasted flavor this is followed by a mild hop bitterness. This is truly a classic porter. faroeviking (6119), BjórtjóđveldiđBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Aroma of roasted malts, bitter coffee and alcohol. Flavour is roasted, sweet and fruity (plums), bitter chocolate and coffee, alcoholic with a good dryness. Great brew. Sad it is no longer brewed. darkerdabetter (255), Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 6, 2006 This sure had potential. Beautiful dark appearance and aroma of chocolate and coffee, but found it too sweet. The overpowering sweetness mixed with the very prevalent alcohol taste just turned me off on this one. Perhaps it was the burnt flavors as well. Not sure, but perhaps should give a second try. hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden

A beautiful porter. Soft and smooth with chocolate, licorice and coffee.
Rather sweet and roasted. Earlier Rating: 8/30/2003 Total Score: 3.1 Dark brown-red.
Aroma from prunes and dark chocolate.

Rich malt aromas with cocoa, brown sugar, vanilla and a touch of alcohol. Earthy caramel malt filled the mouth and sticks around to the finish. Mild alcohol upon the exhale. This has held up over time, to bad it is no longer being produced. A real baltic winter warmer.
