UPDATED: NOV 4, 2023 0.35 l bottle (2019 vintage) with a champagne cork. Dark red, no head. As usually with Boon's lambics, not bone dry or sweet but just about right. Also some oak and obviously cherries.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2023 2017 vintage. Murky reddish brown color with minimal fizzly light red head. Aroma of cherries with sour and wine. Taste has slight cherries with faint vinous notes and oak. Zero sour and tart. Finishes dry. Smooth mouthfeel, medium body, average carbonation. Overall its great but could be better, alot has faded at this point.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2023 2018 vintage C: murky dark purple dark cherry red N: sour, vinous, lots of cherries P: woody, slightly astringent, mellowed down over the years, cherries subdued, faint vinous character. Sadly lacks any kind of oomph.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2023 Donkerroze helder bier met een vingerdikke licht roze schuimkraag, die gevoed wordt door grote hoeveelheden kleine koolzuurbelletjes. In de geur ruik ik duidelijk de zoetzure krieken, maar ook de geur van hout. De smaak is eveneens zoetzuur maar ook zacht met een mooie droge afdronk.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2023 Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, vörös szín. Meggyes, animális, istállós illat. Meggyes, animális ízek, hordós jegyekkel. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, enyhén kesernyés. Nagyon kellemes, meggyesektől szokatlanul száraz sör, nagyon jó egyensúllyal.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2023 zapach intensywny, bardzo mocno skórzany, dużo nut dzikich, stary skórzany but, wiśnie, świeże i soczyste, stary nastaw z wiśni, wilgotna piwnica, stara dębowa beczka, stare czerwone wino, wilgotna ziemia, lekkie nuty torfu i bagna, całość bardzo przyjemna. kolor ciemnoczerwony, opalizujący, piana intensywnie różowa, obfita i dość trwała. w smaku wytrawne, kwaśne, kwasek z wiśni i dzikiego piwa, dużo nut dzikich, skóra, fenole, przyprawy, końska derka, stodoła, stara beczka, gąsior po czerwonym winie, mnóstwo tanin, liście z dębu, nadpsute czerwone owoce, szlachetny alkohol. goryczka umiarkowana, skórkowa, drewniana, taniniczna i przyprawowa z lekkimi nutami alkoholu, krótka i bardzo przyjemnie ułożona. w ustach intensywne, lekko ściągające od kwasku i tanin, pełne i syte, wysuszające. nasycenie wysokie.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2023 Bottle from Delhaize, vintage 2021. Hazy dark red, stable, frothy, pink head. Aroma of sour cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry juice, marzipan, wood, malt vinegar, cheese. Taste has very sour cherry, cherry juice, blueberry & lemon connecting with a faint bitter cherry stone aspect and funky wood & (malt) vinegar. Tart finish, lots of woody tannins, juicy cherry and grape skin. Medium body, moussy texture, average carbonation. Elegant & delicious.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2023 Bottle at home. Deep ruby pour with a thin head. Nose is moderately intense, deep and rich cherry, some leathery funk. Taste is jammy fruits upfront, nicely rich and fairly layered, that’s why it’s kinda sad how quickly it’s gone, leaving an empty(ish) palate. The acidity is not too sharp, the funk’s there but also not too intensely. Pleasant, but far from extraordinary.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2023 Même si je la trouve quelque peu trop acide pour moi, je préfère sans conteste cette Kriek à innombrables autre Kriek trop sucrées qui fleurissent un peu partout. Les arômes de cerise sont de plus appréciables et bien présents sans faire pour autant artificiels. Sur le visuel nous sommes sur un rosé légèrement voilé avec une effervescence moyennement soutenue et une mousse très peu présente. Le nez est sur une alliance vinaigre, cerise avec une touche de boisé. En bouche, si l'acidité reste marquée, celle-ci permet tout de même aux arômes de s'exprimer sur une complexité honorable. Bref, même si j'atteins ici les limites pour moi de l'acidité, cette Kriek a de bonnes qualités.
