UPDATED: MAR 28, 2024 Niezwykle złożone, bardzo dużo czystego słodu i jeszcze więcej estrowych i dzikich nut od drożdży. Mnóstwo kwaskowo-słodkawo-rześkich aromatów i to samo w smaku. Wyjątkowe piwo.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2023 Autumn holiday 2023, day 3/6, Tainan City. A small bottle from the Belgian beer shop in Gong Yuan Road, drunk at the hotel. Aroma: rather sour, grassy barnyard funk. Appearance: clear honey amber, head disappears in a jiffy. Palate: light-bodied and very tart on the tongue, negligibly carbonated, sour finish. Taste: strongly sour, a very complex spectrum from lemons to unripe gooseberries. Good beer, though I would need to drink more to fully appreciate it.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2023 Bottle, shared with Andrew. Golden body with a slight haze. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of elderflower and funk. Flavour of apple vinegar and bitter lemon. Thin body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Very fizzy. It’s well made but not a style I love.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2023 Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, borostyán szín. Savanykás, gabonás, kissé animális illat. Savanykás, gabonás, almás, citromos ízvilág. Könnyű, közepesen szénsavas, nem keserű. Nekem egy picit elcsúszott a savanyú felé.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2023 [as Cantillon Gueuze, saison 21/22, bottled june 2022]. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sour. L'intensità olfattiva è normale e la maniera in cui permane è sufficiente. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste poco. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è di media potenza e c'è anche una componente moderatamente acidula. La forza gustativa è molto elevata e si prolunga in modo persistente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di miele, fieno bagnato, cereali, frutta secca, un accenno di resinoso, agrumi, arancia amara, mandarino, cannella, erbe aromatiche, frutta passita, carta, vino bianco, champagne, pepe, acidulo, zenzero, vaniglia e legnoso.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2023 2022 version. On tap at the brewery on 10th February 2023. Clear gold with shallow off-white foam. Cheesy pungency in aroma. Fresh lemon in-mouth with tart cidery apple hints. Lingering finish of sour citrus. Zingy mouthfeel and a medium body.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2023 How have I never rated this? 2020 version, tap at Muted Horn. Deep golden with a light haze, offwhite head. Lovely barn, light fruit apples and grapes. Dry wood and leather on a medium chewy dry base. Tart apple barrel finish. Classic.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2023 Tap. Golden, bit hazy. Sour fruity. Taste is clean dry, lemon fruit salad, warm. Round and balanced.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2022 Tap at Station 1280, 2022 version. Had this one right after this year’s Fou Foune and to my surprise I liked it a lot better than that. The acid profile is mindblowing, complex and tasty, the beer is layered so one could spend quite some time to discover the dimensions of it but since it’s so incredibly smooth as well you couls just chug it if you’d like. Noice.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2022 26/9/2022. Tap at Zwanze 2022 at the Free Trade Inn, Newcastle. Pours just about clear golden amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Super aroma, lovely tart taste. A delightful classic gueuze, really enjoyed this.
