Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Clear medium brown color with a small, virtully none appearance, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, keller, toffee, dark berry notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, dusty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. Cask at GBBF 2009. Deep brown with a small white head. Fruity aroma with apple peel notes, and some caramel. Sweet toffee and biscuit malty flavour with a hint of chocolate. Somewhat thin and boring

Tap@MessrsMaguire. Toffee and butterscotch aroma. Dark brown colour, light brown head, good lace. Malty, roasted, toffee, some chocolate. Thought the sign said it was 5.6% ABV and not 6.5%. That would make sense as it tastes and feels like a good Dunkel, not a Bock.

A Mes rate. Cask at GBBF.
Murky brown with a slight bubbly off white head. It’s certainly bock-like. Fruity, sweet malt, some bread and alcohol with some faint apple in the finish. Amazingly fruity in the flavour actually. A fairly conviincing bock.

At GBBF 2009. Very dark brown colour, thin beige head. Toffeeish aroma, thinnish in mouth, thin finish of woody toffee. Not great.

Draft pint at the brewpub. Very dark brown with a white top. Quite malty and almost syrupy. Can taste a bit of the alcohol kick. Tasty and different for Eire. (#3674, 9/16/2009)

Mahogany coloured with a ruby tint. Weak roasted dark malts to the nose. Burnt malts offset by candy sugar. Dry ending with notes of tart fruits. Draught, GBBF 04.08.2009.
