RSRIZZO (2325) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - APR 24, 2021UPDATED: APR 24, 2021 22oz bottle courtesy of Headbanger poured into a Tulip. Color is a deep clear amber with nice carbonation and a small off white head. Aroma is dark fruit, hard candy and a touch of hops. It has a medium full body with a crisp mouthfeel. Flavor jumps out with roasted malt giving a coffee like burnt caramel taste then some of the dark fruit from the aroma shows up and is backed by a bold bitterness. In the aftertaste the bitterness gives way to the caramel which leaves you with a sugary finish. Overall I don't feel this is one of Hoppin' Frogs better brews, still an ok brew but the flavors are unbalanced and seem to clash a bit.
NikkTwist (6117) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2018UPDATED: JUN 5, 2018 Draft at Bru Craft. Cloudy orange amber pour with white foam. Lots of lace. Malty grassy DIPA. Mandarins. Dandelions. Peppers. Smoke. Big stuff.
cards04 (3164) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 6, 2017Really intense hoppy brew. But balanced nicely by the caramel malts. Pours an orange\brown. I did smell the hops from a mile away. Big caramel aromas, resin too. Meaty. They don't make a lot of ipas like this anymore. Nice.
fooj (70) - Maryland, USA - JUL 21, 2017I hate that I am forced to write a comment, when all I want to do is rate the beer for my own reference. What happened to not having to integrate with ratebeer.com?

astanford (62) - California, USA - MAY 26, 2017caramel, bread, hay, nuts, toast, roasty, rosemary, resin, smoke, amber, cloudy, minimal head, medium bitterness, medium sourness, full body, average carbonation, bitter, long finish,
cobaink2 (1438) - seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 18, 201722oz bottle from tavour. Pours a dark amber color. Really a malt bomb here. The hops and are pretty much equally at play. Aggressive dice and on point.
gripweed57 (7491) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - DEC 3, 201622 ounce bottle. Pours a deep Amber orange color topped by medium sized frothy beige cap with nice lacing. Caramel malt and pine needle hop nose. First sip follows the nose. Sweet caramel malt is balanced by the big piney hoppiness. Notes of black pepper, biitter citrus peel and alcohol finish this DIPA nicely. Very drinkable.
MrTipple (17967) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2016Sweet grain malts, caramel, molasses, overripe tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, papaya, some sweet orange. Hazy, dark gold, medium, creamy, off-white head. Medium sweet. More overripe tropical fruits, mango, bitter orange, resin and pine, bitterness intensifies, dry finish, soft carnation, medium bodied. Very nice IIPA, great resinous, tropical fruits in aroma. Bottle from Discount Liquor, Milwaukee.
shadey (2299) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 17, 201622oz bottle. Birthday Beer! Pours a clear amber with a nice sticky head of mixed bubbles and cream. Plenty of lacing. Aroma is beautiful malt and sticky hops. Of course the alcohol is high and the hops are plentiful, but Hoppin Frog brings these components together seamlessly and with artistry. The malts are sweet, chewy, delicious, and clean. The hops are sticky and bitter. The alcohol is present but an after-thought that doesn’t impede the enjoyment in any way. Excellent.
