UPDATED: FEB 12, 2021 650ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, dark beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty, minimally sugary and caramel malty aroma, notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, a touch of brown sugar, dark caramel, whiffs of molasses, toffee. Taste is roasty and slightly chocolately, dark malty, bitter roasty and bitter alcoholic, BA notes of rum, some chocolate, dark caramel, a touch of molasses, toffee; lingering, bitter, minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Heavy, malty, BA rum notes with minimally unpleasant, burnt caramel-like bitterness, nice composition overall - decent sipper.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2019 65 cl bottle @ Partola tasting. Pours black color with a small beige head. Chocolaty aroma, rum notes, subtle spices, faint ripe fruits, cocoa and toasted malts. Flavor is sweet syrupy with caramel notes, rum is subtle but evident, distant coconut tones, milky chocolate. Soft carbonation, slightly too sweet overall. 5324

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2019 Bottle 650ml at Niko. Bottled 2019-05-03. Thanks to Olio. A black beer with khaki head. Aroma and taste have roasted malts, rum barrel, brown sugar, chocolate, caramel. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweet chocolately finish.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2019 0,65l bottle shared @ home, cellar tasting. Pours very dark brown with a low tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts, raisins, vanilla. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, raisins, vanilla, alcohol, hops. Tasty.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2021 Bottle (27-Oct-19) Dark choc raisin aroma. Jet black colour, ordinary head and suds lacing. Dark choc raisin slight chilli flavour. Bitter dark choc finish and choc coffee raisin aftertaste.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2019 On tap and out the bottle - both amazing. Pours a jet black with a light tan head. Aromas of rum, coffee and plenty of dark roasted malt. Taste is delicious, super compex and well balanced. Rum adds a nice sweetness but the aftertaste isn't overly boozy. Very easy to drink! Can't get enough of this. Well done Moon Dog!

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2019 Pours a lovely black and creamy honeycomb head. Bouquet of vanilla and a hint of molasses. Nice soft mouth feel delivers a smooth vanilla flavour with hints of dried fruits -sultanas ;-) and prunes. Some hard caramel and the tiniest hint of charcoL. The finish reveals the proper rum barrel effect with the vanilla from the wood and sweetness from the rum infusion.
