Scopey (24256) - Oldmeldrum, SCOTLAND - APR 13, 2022
UPDATED: APR 13, 2022 Can from the brewery. It pours darkest brown to black with a nice dark tan / brown head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, charred oak, umami, rich roasted coffee, cacao nibs / dark chocolate, fairly subtle sweetness which underpins everything, molasses and rocky road. The taste is dry, rich roasted malt, pleasing bitterness which lingers, toothy bite, premium dark chocolate, cacao nibs, dark roasted coffee, charred pine, touch of tannin, only a touch of sweetness in the malt base, malt loaf and hitn of rocky road with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Very well crafted stuff. Good depth and high drinkability. Balanced. Classy.
