Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown/black, but it has ruby notes when viewed against light. Three-finger foamy tan head. Aroma of really darkly roasted malt with perhaps anise and/or chocolate. The nose is a little complicated. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is smooth dark roasted malt. It is sweet. Nutty. Dark fruit. Cough syrup. Chocolate and dates or figs. Lots going on. Finishes dark, rather syrupy and sweet. Nice winter drink.

500 ml bottle - pours clear, cold brown with foamy tan head settling into a thin, soft film; toasty malts with hint of booze; toffee, figs, sweet chocolate, brown sugary sweetness; wow, soft texture packs plenty of sweet roast, dark fruit, candy goodness, silky chocolate; body is on the light side and quite sweet overall; dry chocolate on the finish; pretty nice overall though doesn’t quite pack the level of flavor I’m looking for in baltics

Bottle 500ml.
Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt candy. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. [20091122]

500ml capped from M&V that has a PO.02.06.2/2 stamp on the back label. Looks fantastic in the glass. Deep dark cola brown with nice think light tan head. Right away the nose permeates the room with roasty carob malt, brown sugar, cola, raisins, and fig newtons. Nice creamy carbonated body with the right amount of viscosity for a Baltic in my opinion. Taste has most of what I got in the nose, but nothing really assertive and maybe just a bit bland and too much sweet bready malt going on. I would have liked to have more layers in the flavor of this one. Well made and very drinkable for sure.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear black with a tint of red and a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and licorice - somewhat rustic. Solid body, lots of licorice and roasted malts, a little dried fruits and an oxidized edge. Skewed, rustic and odd but quite pleasant really. 221109
