Bottle. Thanks bluebetty. Pours deep brown to black with a lovely, medium, staying, creamy off-white head. Aroma has sweet chocolate, nuts, mild vinious, soft spicy. Low carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has chocolate, mildly roasted, soft hazelnuts. Soft viniousness in the finish. Lovely.

A-- Poured a reddish black color, a decent half inch tan head that does hold retention well. Leaves some lacing but not much. S-- Coffee, chocolate and nuts. Not a big booze smell to this for an 8% beer but you do get a warming feel in the nose. T-- Light chocolate, coffee (more like espresso), a little bit of toffee or carmel in this. Vanillia would be a great touch to this. M-- Flavors stay in the mouth for a while. Especially the coffee taste. Not as thick as hoped but solid. Get a warming sensation pretty quickly in the mouth and the combination of coffee and chocolate is good. D-- Bigger than the Coopers Stout and better just due to the flavor profile. Good mix of chocolate, coffee and then the touch of sweetness with a bit of a bite in the end. Very drinkable but not scary drinkable due to the hidden ABV. Is a little boozy. Good end of night beer on a cold night. Murrays could come up with a really good version if they did a Oak aged Porter. Needs just a little more sweetness though in this.

ALLOVATE (3846) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2012
Just on cool and into a snifter. Fairly dull pour results in a thin, tight tannish pad, miserly fuelled by sluggish, minute bubbles, atop a deep cola brown body, just off bright. Aroma of fresh strapped leather, boozy cherry brandy, plums, fruit tingle candy, smoke and dark chocolate. Spicy warming alcohol leads the way in the mouth to be drowned out by a long linger of dark chocolate, charred wood and ash. There is dark stonefruit on the palate, and a hit of vinous, port-like notes in the rear but this is also slowly smothered by the chocolate malt. The body is on the lighter side of medium and it is very softly spoken on the tongue, smooth in the swallow. It levels out quickly, as it warms it seems to simplify rather than show more character. A nice Porter, but lacking something like personality. (33cL, BB 29/06/13, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

Bottle- lovely dark colour. Good caramel biscuit malt aromas. Good malt balance throughout, with a nice malt bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear dark brown - white head. Chocolate, roasted, nutty, berries, light hoppy, high malty, needs some burned malts to be a porter, high sweetness, vanilla. A bit boring.
