promontor (352) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 1, 2024UPDATED: JAN 1, 2024 0.33l bottle. One of the early classics of the Great Hungarian Beer Revolution. Thick dark brown body. Beige head vanishing quickly. Fresh fruity aromas, cherry, mostly. Taste is caramel and fruits, once again cherry. Mild licorice. Palate is silky and despite the high alcohol content it is a bit watery, probably due to the low carbonation. Aftertaste is sweet, syrup-like. That spoils the show and kills the complexity, unfortunately, making this a rather one-sided affair.

mkcmagico (1352) - Mezokövesd, HUNGARY - FEB 24, 2019UPDATED: MAY 8, 2021 0,33 bottle.
***
Darker than previous double-buck beers, deep, brown, extremely small-hole head, nice in goblet, not richer in glass. Aroma: very delicate, dried fruit, fresh, background caramels! Taste what I expected! Carbonation point hit, full-bodied, yet drinkable. Not too sweet - but still sweet enough - they still feel like fruity notes, due to the hops. I really like such beers, without added sugar I think better beers can be made than the famous Belgian strong ales. It's not ale, but it rivals them. I recommend!
