COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To celebrate 11 years since the release of the original iStout we decided to turn the dial to 11 and make an even more imperial version of this already very imperial beer. 11th anniversary limited edition release. An even bigger version of our already feisty iStout. Huge chocolatey roasty stout which will warm the cockles of one's heart. Big and strong, roasty, sweet and fruity.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2023 Can as gift at home. Black colour with a tan head. Rich malty chocolate bitter. Roasted nutty. Slight maple. Rich full body. Wow. This is a really really good imperial stout.

Splendida

UPDATED: APR 23, 2023 330ml can as part of a delivery from New Zealand Beer Collective and drunk at home. Black with a big loose light brown head. Pine, molasses, dark cooking chocolate and some Coffee and stone fruit in the aroma. Taste is achingly sweet, with lots of muscovado sugar, chocolate and citrus notes, followed by some hoppy bitterness at the end. Full syrupy body, light carbonation. A revelation.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2023 It pours very dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is low. It has aromas of chocolate and alcohol. It also has strong prune notes with some coffee and roast. Additionally that are some light sherry elements. The roast is forward in the flavors with coffee and chocolate. There are some prune and cherry notes with some light sherry elements. It has strong, but smooth alcohol warming with a medium full body. It also has quite a smooth texture. Overall, for such a strong beer, it is quite smooth in the finish. The bitterness is a tinge harsh, but really doesn't take away from the other complex flavors.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2023 Draft 4 oz pour at Chuck's CD, which is just about all I could probably handle of this one. Dang! Huge beer here. Jet black pour with a full coat of tan lacing. Coffee and booze nose. Just know this one is intense from the aroma from a distance. Flavor is a dense chocolate, espresso, and a ripe banana. Borderline syrupy. Thick constant, but its cool on the finish, and the boozy palate fades quick, and leaves a cocoa and coffee ground. Intense big stout, but less than it needed to be. Thing I'm most thrilled about is that this didn't need any junk in it to be good. Take a stout, triple it, put it on one glass, and call it good. I enjoyed this, but I'd certainly need to be in the mood for this.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2022 330mL can, pours jet black with a medium brown head. Aroma is full of deep roasted malt, wood, a little wood varnish, and black liquorice. Flavour is rich and roasty, with deep roasted malt, black liquorice, wood, and a bit of dark fruits. The ABV is well-hidden considering the beer. Deeply roasted, with plenty of liquorice and molasses on the finish. Big, bold and brutal. It’s too harsh and not all that well integrated. Tasty enough but a but tough to drink.

LazyPyro (8245) - Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 29, 2022
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2022 330ml can. Pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of chocolate, treacle, dark fruits. Taste is very rich, treacle, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, roast, liquorice, brown sugar, leather, sweet, gentle alcohol warmth the only hint that this might be a strong beer - really wouldn't have guessed as high as 15%. Full bodied, smooth. Thought the original was outstanding but so is this.

The_Osprey (10591) - WALES - MAY 11, 2022
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2022 8 Wired Double Imperial iStout 11th Anniversary Ed 15% 330ml can bb 2039 consumed May 2022. Pitch black with a good foamy brown head. Aroma is liquorice, treacle, blackstrap molasses, boot polish. Full body, rounded, slightly frothy. Taste is dates and molasses backed up with resin and liquorice and ashy roasted malt, the tangy hops always counterbalance the sweetness, touch of port-like fruitiness towards the finish. No alcohol presence. I might never have had a 15% beer that carries the alcohol better than this. You turn your back for a second and you’re boosted..but where was the alcohol? Nice soft bitterness lingers on. Glorious. One of the best Imperial stouts I’ve had in ages. 4.5
