Thanks to Peter for going above and beyond the call of duty! Poured rich, deep black with a creamy cap of dark tan head.. I don’t know that I’ve seen a better looking beer. The aroma was semi-sweet with perfectly roasted coffee first and foremost.. dark chocolate and toasty, oatmeal-ey sweetness complemented perfectly.. everything came together flawlessly. The flavor was deep and seductive with rich coffee, dark chocolate, and lighter nutty notes.. coffee bitterness was amplified by the otherwise invisible alcohol presence on the edges, and there was a faint glimmer of smoke.. long, splendid finish. Heavily-bodied with just enough carbonation to perfectly coat all the tastebuds.. dry and smokier on the back.. this was a masterpiece!
