Commercial Description:
In the beginning of 2006 the people behind Denmark's leading beer bar "Ølbaren", the leading beer shop "Ølbutikken" and Ølfabrikken sat down together to plan a beer that was to be only served from tap at Ølbaren and only sold in bottles from Ølbutikken. After a night of drinking it ended up with a massive Russian Imperial Chocolate Stout using ingredients from four continents. South american Cocoa, Asian coffee, North american hops and European malts. Ølfabrikken ØL is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers. Introduced at 'Københavnske Øldage 2006'.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle sampled at ZBF. Once again another HUGE thanks to Mads for this. What an absolute stunner. Simply superb. Dark malt, a little straw and barley, chocolate, coffee and OH MY GOD THE HOPS!!! So much hoppy character for a stout. Not overly alcoholic in the nose or the flavour considering the abv. Absolute velvet in the mouth. Thick chunky and chewy car tyre stuff. Bitter and slightly alcoholic finish that is nothing short of amazing. Almost downable which is pretty incredible for a beer of this type. A shining example of everything I like from a beer. Full bodied, gloriously complex, the balance is stacked perfectly, mouthfeel could not be better, etc etc. Outstanding beer.

Thnx caesar for bringing this one. Black colored brew. Aroma is malty, coffee and good chocolate bitterness. Very nice smooth flavor. Bitterness is balanced and has got great flavors, you can taste quality. Coffee, espresso beans, dark chocolate and smoked malts. Very interesting and a great taste and aroma.

bottle, best bf 2012. strong aroma. nicely balanced extreme imp.stout. a little alc. in the aroma. looks great, although just a small brown head. flavor is one of the very best imp stouts i have ever tasted. sweet , coffee, mild chocolate dominates, but other stuff is present. mouthfeel is thick. I consider this to be in the group of very best stouts i have tasted. Great brew.

Dark black engine oil pour with a very dark brown head. Aroma is very roasted and burnt with dark fruit and light hops aiding. Beer was very thick with a lot of smooth chocolate blended well into itself. This is a beer to be shared and shared it was. Very good brew. Would buy again if I could find it.

Swing top bottle. a black as coal beer with a small and fast disappearing dark brown head. The aroma is malty with notes of chocolate, coffee, licorice and roasted malts. There are also some aromatic hops that shine through the roastiness. Rich, complex and powerful aroma. The flavour has a good sweetness and overall the chocolate notes prevail on the others. Good roastiness. Full body, soft/average carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness from both roasted malts and hops (but more from the roasted malts). Complex, not overly syrupy and flavourful. A loss this is no longer brewed.
