ross (1503), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Apr 11, 2008 Bottle. No date, assume its pretty fresh. Pours out an orange color without much of a head on it. The smell is instantly full of hops, grass, pine, and some alcohol. The head disappears quickly leaving a beer that is perhaps a little under carbonated. The taste of this beer was very nice, smooth, fresh hop tasting, bitter but seemingly one dimensional. There are hops, sure, but there isnt too much balance to it. I think if it had just a bit more carbonation I would have really liked this beer. It is still good stuff, and I would gladly drink it again; but I am not sure I would buy it again.
nearbeer (1101), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 25, 2008 650 ml. Hazy dark copper with a small, tries-to-last head. Molasses, caramel, resin, citrus and chocolate aromas. Flavor is all that plus some oak wood, walnut and light alcohol. Near medium body is watery, smooth and dryish with slight chest-warming alcohol. Sammy (2969), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 18, 2008 Thanks Crushinator. Cloudy yellow with a wonderful head. US hop aroma but European hop taste. A good bitterness, this is well hopped. The caramel is not so noticable and it served to create balance. Lots of lines of lace. A refreshing IPA. Oh its a DIPA, even better, quite drinkable then for its style.
Jonte (328), Gothenburg, Sweden Jul 12, 2008 Bottle at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Gothenburg. Orange color with an off-white head. Aroma of hops, grape, sweet malt, exotic fruit and grass. The taste is hoppy, but not extreme. Notes of grape, pine, caramel, strawberries, exotic fruit, grass and a bit of alcohol. Hoppy, but also very sweet and malty. Creamy and full bodied. cellar (271), Dublin, Ireland Jul 11, 2008 Dark amber, notes of hops, grapefruit, flowers, nice bitter, short bitter finish.
