duff (5405), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Apr 15, 2008 Bottle. Quite spicey and sweet. Christmas spices come through in the aroma and flavour. Palate is quite sweet, raisiny and shows some caramel as well, some slight soy sauce stickyness comes through, but otherwise this is quite nice.

High carbonation and a dominant kandis flavor. Alcohol obvious JK (2401), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Jan 27, 2008 A very good dubbel, especially for one made outside of Belgium, because this style seems to be a challenge for many non Belgian brewers. Anyway, there is alcohol and sweet malt in the aroma. The flavor has more malt and some sugar, some yeast, as well as fruit. Great, thick palate, the way I like the style Skyview (2851), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jan 20, 2008 Sampled at MN Ratebeer Winter Gathering in Maplewood, MN and received a 500 ml bottle from Papsoe via trade. Pours a cloudy rusty brown brew with a thin off-white head that has some good retention. Aroma of spicy caramel malt, cinnamon, some fruity character along with toffee and bread dough. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, some light maple syrup, fruity pears and a touch of toffee. Finish is smooth, creamy with a light yeast and caramel aftertaste.
