Commercial Description:
A mild and slightly sweet porter balanced with a hint of Sumatra coffee and cinnamon. The coffee used is Lintung Arabica which is famous for the oily "Boengie" flavor. This porter has a dry finish and is only lightly hopped, which accentuates the spicy touch. Ølfabrikken Kaffeporter is, of course, unpasteurized and unfiltered like all of our beers.

A thin tan head slowly recedes, never fully. The body ours out a deep burned brown. The aroma is reminiscent of re-heated brownies sprinkled with coffee grounds. Chocolate malt is foremost, followed by caramel and roasted grain, then coffee and mild vanilla and ashy smokiness. Very sweet, almost painfully so with a prolonged whiff; very nice but too lactic. The flavor is still sweet, but now a medium-high level, more enjoyable and less intrusive. Coffee is the most dominant characteristic, followed closely by semi-sweet cocoa, powdery and gritty. alcohol is mildly detectable but warms substantially in a sweet and chocolatey finish that is a touch roasty on the back side. The mouthfeel is medium to medium-full bodied, smooth, mildly carbonated and lightly oily. Above average, well-crafted, though too much sweet coffee presence for me to get into it. As sweetness builds with each successive sip this becomes quite difficult to drink.

(Bottle, Btach 267 BBE 150509, at Pikkulintu on 2008-08-28) Black. Large light brown head. Coffee and vanilla in nose. Full, oily and dry palate with little to medium carbonation. Lots of coffee, roastedness, chocolate, bitterness and hint of liquorice in taste.

Bottled. Thx Gustaf. Pitch black with almost no head. A lot of chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Dry flavour with notes of dried peas, but also chocolate and licorice.

One of my favourite beers. Great aroma, with a filling head. Appearance is beautiful and the taste is delicious- with coffe, liquroice, dark fruits and smoked malts.. Overall a fantastic danish beer, to be proud of!!!!
