Boutip (1745), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Mar 17, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Thewolf: Poured a dirty beige color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of spices and fruity ester is quite interesting with some light funky notes. Taste is also dominated by some light spices with some great fruity esters with a great malt backbone which may includes wheat. Full body with limited filtration and great carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Overall, I thought it was a refreshing example of the style with some good complexity to offer as well. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Mar 17, 2007 75 cl bottle batch 260. Pours with a huge white creamy head. Golden yellow colour. Aroma is fruity, wheat and sweet with notes ofhops. Taste is soft, very pleasant wheat like notes - I love the presence of chamomile and thyme. Perfectly balanced and overall a very good brew of its kind. Dry finish. thewolf (3490), Kolding, Denmark Jun 24, 2007 Updated: Jul 19, 2007Bottle, from Kolding Vinhandel. Muddy pale yellow with a big bubbly white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma has a weak chamomille, light fruityness (oranges) and generally sweet. Flavour is sweet, lightly vinious, loads of chamomille and other sweet spices. Complex and with a light carbonation. lending it a creamy feel. Theis (2019), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 5, 2007 Bottle at home - shared with Mette, Morten & Lui. ToolHead (232), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 10, 2007 75 cl (plastic-) corked & wired bottle. Served in wine glass. Deep, hazy gold w/ mammoth, mostly lasting head that leaves good lacing. Powerfully, invitingly spicy, yeasty and flowery aroma w/ notes of honey and nice hop presence. The flavor is yeasty and pleasantly, softly spicy, well-hopped and honeyish without being even slightly sweetish. Complex and harmonic. The finish is dry as a bone, spicy and lasting. Great drinkability. Full and pleasantly fluffy mouthfeel. A hugely enjoyable and well-crafted saison that I’d gladly come back to.
