Poured a murky dark amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, pine, caramel . Taste was sweet, beet sugar, nuts, tobacco, pine, light citrus, moderate bitterness and light alcohol in the finish. It left a lingering cloying sugary/molasses taste that coated my tongue. Thanks Steve for sharing this super rarity!

Jun 18, 2008 Bottle @ WSF, Thanks Engelsman! Muddy with medium beige head. Hoppy with caramel, toasted malt and viniuos notes. Finishes with intense bitterness.

May 7, 2008 Thank you Jason for this bottle! Cork opened to a very loud pop and poured a medium brownish / amber color with a red tint and a large sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, dark fruits, floral hops, and pine. More on the ’Barleywine’ aromas. Tastes of molasses, floral, earthy, dark fruits, and caramel. Bottle was hand written with 200 IBUs...

May 6, 2008 Thanks to hopdog for sharing this bottle. Pours a hazy ruby amber with a medium creamy/bubbly off white head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, molasses, pine, mixed citrus, candi sugar and tobacco. Flavor was earthy, floral, sugary, toasted malt, toffee, molasses, pine, some grapefruit, dark fruits and caramel.
