ChristianScheffel (2250), Odense, Denmark Oct 26, 2006 Updated: Feb 2, 2007 I had this very young when it was a bit confused in its mix of impressions, not quite matured. Then at the Danish beer festival autumn 2006, when I was the confused part. Then a re-rate at home with a perfect beer: Hazy golden beer with a huge white head. Aroma dominated by American hops - citrus and peach - and much less Belgian yeast. The mix of fruit and yeast could also give a quick champagne impression. Sweet and rich, with plenty of hops to balance. Long dry aftertaste with grapefruit and some licorice notes.
As someone who find most "perfect" tripels cloying with all their yeastiness, I have to love this unorthodox interpretation. As the label promises, it’s extremely easy to drink for a 9.5% beer. And the health recommendations doesn’t even allow one bottle a day...
kkearn (689), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2008 Flip-top bottle. Pours cloudy orange-golden, capped with a frothy white head. Floral hop aroma, a bit intense for the style, with some pineapple and brown sugar. Hops take the forefront in the flavor as well, with grass, tropical fruit, honey and alcohol. Fairly smoth bodied. Nice interpretation. oh6gdx (6343), Vaasa, Finland Jun 18, 2008 Bottled. Hazy golden colour with some particles floating around and a nice longlasting beigeish creamy head. Aroma is fruity, spicy and quite yeasty with some notes of herbs too. Flavour is quite much the same with some alcohol and more spices added. eaglefan538 (2079), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Apr 7, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Robert at SL. The pour was golden clear yellow in color with neat little floaties, nice loud pop upon opening, lots of carbonation bubbles furiously rising to the surface, excellent initial head, great retention, solid lacing. The aroma was yeast and bread, citrus lemons, coriander. Flavor followed the aroma with a touch of bananas and grass in the finish. Spritzy, highly carbonated mouthfeel, overly carbonated perhaps, squeeky clean (slight acidity?) finish. Decent stuff, though. Thanks, Robert! motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Mar 27, 2008 bottled, thanks thewolf. murky orange, lasting beige head. aroma of raw sugar, menthol, fruit tella, traces of green pepper. decently balanced - modest bitterness, some warming alcohol KimJohansen (4296), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jan 16, 2008 Hazy golden with huge head.
