Wulfstan (443), California, USA Feb 11, 2008 Updated: Apr 22, 2008This is nice, crisp, and quite tasty. It is dark gold, bright and bubbly with a very big white head which is dense and essentially permanent, leaving creamy lacing. The aroma is malty, toasty grain, whole wheat bread and pine sap. The taste is light, crisp, neither particularly sweet nor bitter, although tending toward the bitter. It’s very tingly with a light mostly herbal, cypressy hop quality before the crisp juniper-grain finish. It is very enjoyable, crisp and very clean, and if not too cold has plenty of malty grain and hop flavours, a lot of subtle flavours which bring this beer pretty high but they can be easily lost and overpowered if too cold. drpimento (499), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Sep 4, 2007 New beer at Bodega Brew Pub. Amber bottle. Good beer. Typical Czech style: fresh, pronounced bitter sweet with lots of graininess. Decent head and lace. NIce yellow gold color. Good body and carbonation. A session beer if you like the style. ahodny (2), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA does not count Feb 16, 2008 Not very hoppy for a Czech lager. Has a mild, pleasant aroma and smooth aftertaste. rampmaster (144), Alden, New York, USA Jul 16, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a brown, 1pt.0.9floz. or 500ml bottle into a pint glass. The body has a bright golden color with some visible carbonation and very good clarity. The head is thin and foamy with an “egg shell white” color. It leaves only a little spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is full of floral Czech hops with some light white bread malt. There is a clay like earthy quality with some very light metallic notes mixing with hops on the tongue. The hops are floral, grassy and a little bit leafy. They add a mild, pleasant bitterness to the flavor. Its body is light with a zesty texture and carbonation that tickles the tongue. The finish is quick, crisp and end on a mildly bitter note. This is a good solid Czech pilsener. It was very refreshing and enjoyable.

Bert, yer dah greatest! Body is sweet round and smooth ith an expert touch of saaz hops. Liquid bread indeed! I truly love Bohemian pilseners and this is a great one. Lacing is patchy.
