From tap at Modrý Abbé, blindtasting beer #9. Pours dark and unclear brown with a dense, creamy and light tan head. Dry roasted malt aroma and mild coffee note. Flavour is light liqourice and roasted malt. Nice balance and mix with a light bitterness into the finish.6-4-7-4-14=3.5
RBESG2008: 1.5 L bottle. Pours hazy brown with a slowly diminishing tan head. Aroma is mild butterish and roasted. Flavour holds a nice roasted malt flavour and a light butterish note towards the finish. Ends with a light acidic roasted note.7-3-7-3-13=3.3

Aug 15, 2008 Hazy and dark brown beer with a firm off-white head. Deep aroma of licorice, with some grainy malt notes. Dryish burnt caramel flavour with licorice, and a hoppy finish.

Aug 9, 2008 (6/28/08) Draught at a blind tasting at Modrý Abbé in Klatovy. Dark brown to black color with a medium, rather creamy, brown head. Aroma of roastiness and nice coffee notes. Sweet flavor at first with nice roasted malt, coffee and light notes of chocolate. Finishes rather dry. Medium-bodied.

Aug 8, 2008 Draught (Modré Abbé, Klattau): Almost black with a firm, lacy beige head; dark malt, roasted malt and also hops in the nose; solid bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; lingering hoppy and roastmalty, mainly dry, finish. A very good, spicy Dunkel from Böhmisch-Eisenstein..............

Aug 7, 2008 Blind tasting nr. 9 - at Modrý Abbé. Clear dark brown - light brown/grayish head. Burned, licorice, thin body, dry burned, red berries, coffee, chocolate, nice malty, light hoppy. OK !!

Aug 5, 2008 (Draught) Pours dirty brown. The aroma is light caramelly and coffee/chocolaty malty with spicy and floral hops to back it up. Undertones of fruits and sweet dark berries. The flavour is coffee/chocolaty malt with bitter, floral and grassy hops. Hints of salt liquorice and sal ammoniac in the finish. Some berries are present in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is spicy, light crisp and light dry. Medium bodied.
