Nov 28, 2009 Black pour with thin white head, aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Tastes of sweet malt up front, very smooth clean finish. Very little bitterness, just a tad light in body. This is probably the easiest drinking "black" beer I’ve ever had. Very nice.

Nov 19, 2009 Draught. Very dark brown, nearly black but with a red tinge as well. Very short lived tan head. Aroma of grain and smoke and some light chocolate. Flavor is smoke, caramel, black malt, cocoa. Smooth, thick mouthfeel. Very tasty beer, I was extremely pleasantly surprised by it.

Sep 19, 2009 Tap @ the Mini Beer Fest... Poured deep amber brown with a thick, off-white head. Aroma of sweet, malted grains and mellow hops. Big and roasted with the malts. Like a porter that’s much more hop driven.

Aug 23, 2009 #563 (Reggie Jackson) I’ve had this on draft at Sassy’s as well as Cassidy’s and impressed both times. Mucho strong flavor, roasty and chocolatey. Thick.

Jul 27, 2009 I tried nearly everything at Fanno Creek Nano Brewfest, and this was one of only 3 that I would buy again. Very smooth, well balanced and mildly flavored. I plan to sit down with a full pint of it sometime soon.
