JK (2401), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Mar 28, 2006 The best that I tasted at the brewpub. Calling it a brown ale doesn’t do it justice. This beer has a full palate and is heavily hopped and spiced. It did leave a light hop burn, and there were flavors of citrus, flowers, and bitter hops. Dark brown. Well done.
Geiserich (1536), Vienna, Austria May 1, 2006 Draught: Fruity hoppy aroma.
Very nice creamy, off-white, stable head (guinness feeling). Dark amber, reddish-brown, light hazy color. Refreshing, light to medium bodied ale. Fruity, light malty flavor. Quite hop pronounced beer with fruity and herbal notes. Light roasted malt flavor in the end and a light dry, medium bitter finish. Very good, quite unconventional "brown ale". A bit more body would not harm.
