Geiserich (1775), Vienna, Austria May 22, 2009 Orange, light brown color, creamy head. Fruity, light yeasty aroma, intensive notes of banana. Fruity, full bodied flavor. Notes of oranges, bananas, cherries, malt and spices. Finish with citrus and light herbal hops. dry finish. Great!! MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Nov 21, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Mild buttery aroma. Hazy amber colour. Big stable creamy tan head. The flavour is nicely spicy from the hops. Also a bit sweet. It does not have the fat yeastiness of a Belgian dubbel, but is still OK. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Nov 20, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy amber, small head. Sheer butterscotch aroma. Fairly sweet with strong buttery popcorn flavour. Medium-full bodied with rounded mouthfeel. The flavour only ranges as far as toffee, caramel and butterscotch making it strictly one-dimensional. There’s basically no Belgian yeast character. Feels like a poor photo copy of the American photo copies of Belgian dubbels.
