1516 Eegit Yakima Stout

On tap at Brewery Pub 230409 as named Eejit stout 09 murky black creamy beige head lacing . First bit watery mouth feel then exploded dark malts and fruity tangy hops dry end but not full body mouth feel

On draught at the brewpub. This beer pours flat back with a medium thick and foamy dark beige head that recedes steadily. Large patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma is mildly roasty with notes of malt and coffee. Medium, smooth body with flavors of roasted malt, coffee and mild hops. The finish is creamy on the tongue and has a roasted malt with a mildly bitter coffee aftertaste. Standard issue Stout overall.

My Bottom Line:
Marred by diacetyl, this Stout struggles to let its roastiness, chocolate sweetness and fruity angles shine.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sticky foam cream decorates the pure black.
-The butterscotch/diacetyl really tries to fit in, but it is simply oppressive to my palate.
-Carbonation is frothy, and with the ample dextrins makes for a cushiony mouthfeel.
-The roasted bitterness dries up some of the sweetness.
-Piney, wooden hops show up in the last half.
-It is harder and harder to drink as it warms.

Draught at the brewpub as Eejits Stout.
Almost black coloured, one finger big beige head, burnt sugar nose with hints of chocolate. Light roasted, fruity and Irish coffee taste with notes of cocoa. Easy going stout with rather bitter finish.

Draught at the brewpub as Eejits Stout. Spicy vegetable aroma, sellery? Almost black colour, seems cloudy. The flavour is sweet and roasted, roasted barley, hint of cream. Thin mouthfeel, but good flavour.

Very nice stout. Sweet choclately fruit aroma with an excellent thickness and mouth feel. Pours great with an excellent head. Much more flavour than guiness. In league with the St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.
