Commercial Description:
Allright this one is weird. Sierra Amber. Brewed @ 1516 Vienna by Master Brewer Jürgen Hübchen. “This is our example of a classical Vienna style lager, rarely seen in the world today. Brewed using three different malts, this beer displays a distinct caramel malt character and was traditionally brewed in Austria before brewers in Czechoslovakia invented the gold coloured Czech Pilsen. This is a medium bodied lager with a low hop bitterness and a mild caramel like sweetness.” Now what exactly is so weird? The Text above as well as the Brew are originally from Nairobi/ Kenia.Yes, the one in Africa. Ozzbeco Brewery & Sierra Brasserie. www.sierrapremium.com So, the Sierra Amber is a Vienna Style Lager, originally brewed an Africa, and now brewed by a Berlin Native in Vienna. Back to the Roots. And a big Thank You to Alan Murungi, Head Brewer/ Owner Ozzbeco Brewery, Nairobi Kenya

Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy light amber color. Delicate but perfumy aroma, malt. Smooth mouthfeel, with delicate malt flavor and unexpected fruity touch; an Ale? Good.

Draught at the pub. Clear ambery-golden color with diminishing off-white head that leaves some lace. Neutral spicy, yeasty aroma with flavor of caramel malt, nutty sweetness, fruity and a little bit too mineral for my taste, but not bad. Relatively light bodied after Hop Devil.

Draught at the brewpub: Foamy, off-white head. Light amber color. Mainly grainy aroma, malty, bready. Flavor is malty/grainy, notes of worth, bitter hops and some gras in the end. Dry bitter finish. Bit unbalanced but tasty.

Had this about a month ago at the brewpub. Color was orangey, with a fluffy white head. Aroma of grain and toasted malt; a bit fruity with mineral notes. A solid beer, with an interesting story.
