alexanderj (2204), Chino Hills, California, USA Nov 2, 2009 On tap at Beachwood a few weeks back. Color was a dull, hazy gold. Aroma was tart/sour, bready, and wheaty. Perhaps some lemon, vanilla and pepper. Flavor was much of the same. This is one style of beer I have never particularly liked and just don’t get it really. Solid, but not great. corby112 (670), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 2, 2009
Pours a cloudy thick yellowish orange color with a one finger foamy white head that quickly disappears, leaving no lacing. Kind of sludgy looking and unappealing.
Citrusy aroma with hints of corriander and orange peel as well as some funky sour tartness. Slightly spicy with hints of peppery lemon zest.
Funky sour version of a heffe. Bready yeaty bosy with hints of corinader, lemon and orange peel as well as some subtle grapefruit and ripe banana. The tartness is subtle and not as dominant as I was expecting and/or hoping for. Slightly tart finish but otherwise just tastes like a muddy earthy german wheat beer. Finale moyennement acide (lactique). Très rafraîchissant et facile à boire. DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 28, 2009 Draught ginger Man. Beautifully herbal and fruity. Sour citrus and apple aroma Incredible beer! flatmatt (220), Northville, Michigan, USA Oct 28, 2009 500 mL bottle. Pours golden with a large white, fizzy head that dissolves rapidly like a soft drink. Aroma is sour, with lemon, apple, sugar, and wheat. Flavor is light at first but builds up nicely, with a tart sourness, green and red apple, lemon, and some sweetness and wheaty biscuit approach toward the finish. Lots of carbonation. Relaxing and easy to enjoy. (Rating #2712) jrallen34 (123), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 27, 2009 I drank this from the bottle into a chalice.
The beer pours a bright light colored cloudy gold. It almost looks like its neon. The head is white and rises about 1 finger but fades quickly on pour retention. The lacing is spotty and watery.
The aroma is sharp to start with a nice tartness. It smells just like a granny smith apple. I’ve even peeled one to confirm this, and its confirmed! There is hint of vinegar and wheat.
The taste is great, nice light vinegar taste that is sharp and has a great aftertaste that makes it no doubt what type of beer this is.
The beer is a little watery, but highly drinkable. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Oct 21, 2009 500 ml bottle from Green’s Beverages in Atlanta, sampled 4/25/08. Hazy golden yellow colour with a mostly lasting thick creamy off-white head. Lactic, citric, lemon, doughy, and light grapefruit aroma. Tart lemon and grapefruit flavours with a dry, acidic, and lightly bitter finish. Light bodied, dry, and super refreshing mouthfeel. Sour, but balanced, great hot weather refresher.
