My first foray into this particular style, and while I’m not much of a sour ale lover, I found this one delightful. Poured a slightly hazy yellow with a wispy white head. Aroma of moderate lemon, yeast and a hint of sourness. Flavor was part wheat, lemon, biscuit and yeast with a wonderful mild sourness. A perfect adult beverage for the summer! Pours rather yellowish, with a particular cloudiness. Aroma of lemons, and other citrus’. Flavour was rather tart, yet astonishing refreshing. Overall a lovely beer from a unique style. pineypower (1090), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 26, 2008 Pours out a cloudy light golden straw color with a small quickly fading head. Aroma has some citrus and some vinous aromas. Taste is very light and refreshing, but at the same time complex. Sour notes mix with some banana, bread/grain and some nice funky tartness. Very drinkable and a great summer beer. doboy (177), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 26, 2008 Cloudy yellow appearance. Slightly bitter flavor, till I got to the bottom and found more sour! Has great aroma. Head retention left a lot to be desired. Would like to try it with the blend in flavors. chronictonic (402), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA

Some graininess and banana in the nose. Flavor is yeasty and bready, some mild banana esters, and medium tartness. Would like to see lower abv and og and more of that bret tartness. idbowman82 (62), Painesville, Ohio, USA

Nose is very bready with hints of banana citrus, and raspberry. Taste follows suit but adds a distinct tartness. It finishes dryer than many wheats, but it was certainly a good offering. ilovedarkbeer (1333), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2008 Pours a hazy golden color with a massive white head that shrinks with time. Nose is sour and wheat like with some bread. Taste is wheat lemon citrus and finishes really tart and sour. A very interesting style but the acidity and sourness makes it a bit hard to quaff. Not bad. RomanW70 (297), Providence, Rhode Island, USA

Initial taste is sour with strong notes of bread and banana. Medium light mouthfeel. My first Berliner Weisse. Won’t be the last.
