Pours a clear golden color with really nice lacing bubbling up the side of the glass. Taste is nice and sour, citrus, tart, light hop characteristics, awesome taste in my honest opinion. Palate is very carbonated on the lips, and aftertaste has a lingering sweetness and tartness. Overall, This is the prefect style for a hot summer day. My first Beliner I thought it was a sour disgusting mess. Now I love the style. Cheers! jake65 (1698), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Aroma is dry with grassey hops, light citrus, and a hint of grain. Flavor becomes crisp with citrus, a little biscuit, and some light hops. Nice. Thanks Jordan. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2008 [bottle] Poured cloudy gold with a large, soapy white head. Pretty sour flavor dominates. Wheat and yeast comes through at the end. Light mouthfeel. CharlesDarwin (1835), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 17, 2008 500ml Bottle. A very fresh, fragrant and floral aroma. Coarsely crushed white pepper mingles with orchid blossom. Musky dragonfruit and lychee blow through. Spring breezes elicit warm bread. Nice. Pours a well hazed straw-bale tinted gold. Light opalescence and a dirty tinge. Rim in clean, sparse, fast-fading rocky white. Flavor is luxurious. A peppery, bright blend of soft wheat sugars, snappy bog-like tang, and crisp French bread crust. Nice balance all around. White table grapes fuse with plum sugars and quite fresh doughy bread to create a real interesting blend. Lactic tang is rather minimal but present, giving it a delicious, curt acidity that keeps it refreshing and clean. Not amazingly complex. Fresh, lively and well-built. A nice rendition. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Bottle, part of a blind tasting session. Light orange haze with an suggestions of lemon juice in the color. Nose is of yeast and citrus aromatics. First sip is considerably more citrus and tart than your standard wit... which fits the description of the style altho this is my first of its kind. Was very pleased and impressed with its balance. Berliner Weisse is good shit. I never think I’m in the mood for one (unless I’m amazingly hot and thirsty) but whenever I end up having one I really enjoy it (so long as I finish it before it gets too close to room temperature.)
Anyway, I was quite happy to get a bottle of this one after all the good things I’d heard, and after an hour of heavy lifting out in the yard I was even happier to crack this one. Pours light straw yellow with a beautifully fluffy white head. Lemon and lactic nose, plenty of fresh-cut hay, some mild spicing. More going on here than in most of the other Berliner Weissen (is that the plural?) that I’ve had. Flavor follows, lactic and lemon, extremely dry but not heavily acidic, simply thirst-quenching. Yeast character, rising bread and a bit of spice, again that fresh-mown hay.
This one comes together really nicely. I’d confess that if I was in the mood for one these I would be even happier with a really good saison, but this is really nice nonetheless and it’s also the best Berliner Weisse I’ve had to date. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Aroma of sour lemons, hazy lemon colour, short lived white head. Taste is a milder sour lemon, than the nose. Light bodied, sour/tart, dry and yet quite refreshing. Very nice. gueuzeisgod (109), Graham, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Pours golden yellow with a white head, very nice aroma of sour cherries, peach skins and raw yeasted bread dough. Taste has an immediate quenching tartness, very attenuated body gives it a watery mouthfeel. Delicious and refreshing, an aristocrat’s lawnmower beer. Love it.
