DYCSoccer17 (2187), Davis, California, USA Feb 22, 2008 16.9 ounce bottle shared by grant. Sweet, sugary, herbal, floral aroma with plenty of lemon citrus notes. Aroma is not overly sour or acetic, which is unlike other samples of this style that I have had. Moderately hazy blonde body with small, feeble, quickly dissipating, listless head. No lacing at all. Starts tart, lemony, and sour before it becomes a little grainy and cereal-like. A few yeasty banana esters make a cameo. Finishes with a nice, light sweetness. Pretty straight-forward and drinkable. Not as intensely sour as other Berliner Weisse beers that I have had. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Feb 22, 2008 Tried at Stuffed Sandwich for $7. A little steep, but I’ve been eager to try this for some time now. They sell it at HWC, but I haven’t been motivated to try it. I like sours, so I’m going to rate this higher than normal. Sourness is very mild. lower than I expected, actually lower than the 2006 St Ambrois barleywine I had yesterday. Light beer. Yellow color. soda like carbonation: Large bubbles floating to the top and popping. Smell is somewhat BMC-ish. Nice feel on the tongue. Easy to drink. Pretty decent. Kind of like a well made pale lager. shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Feb 22, 2008 Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a white head. Aroma is wheat, brett, tart fruit, and a touch of earthyness. Flavor is wheaty, fruit, tart, some funkyness, and a earthy finish. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 14, 2008 Updated: Apr 2, 2009Wow! My first Berliner Weisse and it has my interest peaked. Strong pinot blanc aroma with some breadiness. Pours like golden champagne, large bubbles (which usually I hate) and an incredible fizzy thin white head. I think the pour fits the style exceptionally. I haven’t had any other Berliner Weisses before but I really like this. The sourness is very understated in the finish, could use some more, however, it builds as you drink. Medium dryness. Really tastes like a tart pinot grigio. Very smooth carbonation for the size of the bubbles. Forget High-Life... this is the champagne of beers. P.S. Sea Salt & Vinegar chips are a great pairing for this. hoppopotamus (182), Santa Cruz, California, USA Feb 12, 2008 Hazy orange-blond golden beer with a white bubbly head that disappears quick. Has a fruity, citrusy (orange) aroma. The taste is tart, again lemon and orange, and a little sweet. I have never had a beer that tasted more like a slightly sour orange soda. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Feb 7, 2008 Rating 1084, bottle purchased from Sams in Downers Grove, Illinois. Bright golden with a large white foamy crisp head with good carbonation. The nose is sharp citrus and grains. Taste has just a hint of yeast with lots of citrus and pepper. Refreshing and overall a good treat. Worth the price. garthicus (1215), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 6, 2008 Lovely caramel yellow colour. No head. Nice golden sediment settling in the glass. A peppery-orange, zesty- gasoline aroma with a sour-salty flavour with a wonderful lemon finish
