BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Aug 11, 2007 Thank Tom for the bottle: Pours a clean golden hue with a lasting fizzy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of wheat and pale malt, moderate sour apple, hint of banana ester, some funk and wood as well. The taste is much more reserved that I would have thought. The sourness is there but hardly palate crushing as I would have initially guessed. A nice interplay of sour, bitter, and wheat along the ride. This is quite the refreshing and spritzy summer brew. A solid offering but I really did want more teeth grinding pucker power than this did provide. kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Aug 10, 2007 (bottle) Pale slightly hazy yellow with generous white head. Citrus aroma. Flavor is slightly sour lemon, some grassy hops, and some spice. Great summer bear. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Aug 7, 2007 yellow pour big white head. Aroma of wheat and lemon. Flavor is very citrusy lots of lemon, a crisp tartness hits with lots of belgian yeast notes, and an almost sprite like finish. Some light banana notes as well, but mainly lemon, and yeast. A great thirst quencher. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Aug 4, 2007 Pours an effervescent bright golden with an airy, spotty-lacing frothy white head. Aroma of lightly sweet wheat, some grass and a hint of tart lemon and earthy citrus along with a touch of funk. Body starts fairly full for the style, semi-sweet and sticky with a nicely balanced fresh lemongrass tang. Finishes semi-dry and tart with mild bitterness and clove. A very nice Berliner Weisse. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2007 Bottle. Pours a hazy pale golden with a short lived one finger white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of wheat, lemon, yeast , light banana, and a hint of vanilla. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium creamy mouthfeel that finishes dry and tart. Very good. csbosox (1076), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Aug 4, 2007 Hazy golden color with a short lived white head. Aroma is sharp wheat, lemon, yeast, and vanilla with a touch of earthiness. Taste is sharp wheat & citrus followed by some acidity and tartness (though not even close to what I was expecting). The finish is reminiscent of tart lemonade. This tastes similar to my homebrewed wit that had sauer malt added to it. Very refreshing. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 4, 2007 500 ml bottle courtesy of beastiefan2k. Very cloudy pale yellow beer with a fast fading white head. Spritzy carbonation. Aroma is quite estery and sweet up front with banana and apricot character. Soft wheaty tartness and loads of wheat flavour. Soft tartness initially that strangely accents the malt sweetness. Very creamy body with citruc tartness over the wheaty flavour. Light banana fruitiness that intensifies a bit as the temperature comes up. A hint of clove as well. The tartness also seems to get dialled up a bit as the beer warms. Nice brew. Botolph (16), Brooklyn, New York, USA Aug 3, 2007 Milky yellow body, a wonderfully sturdy, and citric tartness that is quenched by this refreshing beer.
