crazyvin (1245), New York, USA May 24, 2009 Seemed to have a little too much carbonation to it. Yellow-gold hue with a white head that faded fast. Astringent aroma which at times did seem fruity but overall it was astringent. Flavor was similar initially it did have a nice ester twang to it but it got tired some after a while. My first of this style. Finish was moderately dry. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA May 18, 2009 Bottle at City Beer in SF, first I’ve rated of the style I think. Golden color with a white head and high carbonation apparent. Aroma of wheat and lemon/other sour fruits. Flavor of wheat with lemony tartness and sour grapes and apples. Sharp, crisp palate with a pleasant astringency. Not too sour. Refreshing. jameswolfe (141), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA May 17, 2009 My first Berliner and I think it is pretty good. A light golden beer with a metallic taste and a sour finish. marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA May 15, 2009 This bubbly golden beer poured with a decent off-white head and a yeasty aroma. There is a sweet wheat flavor with a typical sourish finish. It’s very fruity and tasty. guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA May 7, 2009 Bright gold appearance with a tiny, gray head and sparce lacing. Aroma of wheat and tart fruit, thinking lemons and green apples. Wheaty, astringent taste; sour, but not in the same vein as a Flemish sour. This one is unique, as if a spritzy white wine had started to turn. Dry, medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. Lingering, fruity, finish. A real palate cleanser. ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA May 7, 2009 thanks to GMCC2181 for helping me knock out another style. poured a hazy yellow with a white fading head. aroma of citrus, sweaty socks, and fruity notes. medium body and very fizzy. this was an easy drinker. Swalden28 (1439), McKinney, Texas, USA May 2, 2009 Bottle thanks to GMCC2181. Pours a cloudy light yellow with white fizzy head. Aroma of citrus and white grape, some wheat. Flavor has a refreshing tartness, some citrus, white grape, wheat, lemon grass. Mouth feel is light body with high fizzy carbonation. Overall pretty tasty.... HonkeyBra (1266), Lemont, Illinois, USA Apr 28, 2009 Pale gold pour with a big fluffy head and lots of carbonation. Aroma of wheat, grapes, some dusty, earthiness. Flavor is lightly tart and fruity, some lactic tartness and yeast. Great, effervescent mouthfeel. Cool to try an authentic Berliner Weiss, but I like the new glarus version more.
