| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Pours hazy golden yellow with a huge fizzy white head that disappears rather quickly. Lots of big bubbles of carbonation stream to the top of the glass. Very lively. The aroma is sour and a bit funky/musty with unripe fruit. Mostly lemons and peaches. Heavy bread yeast as well. The flavor is light, frothy, refreshing, and tart. Lemon, peaches, and oranges draw the mouth water with a nice bready yeast in the background. Napoleon and his troops said it perfectly, "Lively and elegant." phaleslu (574), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2009 Bottle from Wine and Cheese Place. Pours a hazy orange-yellow-brown color that is hard to describe with a medium white head that dissipates after a minute or two and leaves a ring on the edge. Aroma of lemon, lactic acid, and wheat. The flavor follows suit- lemony, and wheaty, but the lactic flavor is a bit muted, so it’s not as tart as others in the style. Still really nice to drink. Medium bodied, wheaty and malty mouthfeel, with a refreshing citrus quality. Pretty cool beer, though maybe on the fringe of a Berliner Weisse. tomhenderson (128), Carolinas area, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 21, 2009 16.9 oz bottle. Pours slightly cloudy (with minimal chunks of yeast) and a huge big-bubble head that disappears almost instantaneously. Very effervescent but not like champagne. Aroma is chock full of light fruits (grape, pear, apple), wheat, lemon citrus, all with a distinctive sour note. Taste is similar. No hint of hops, DMS, diactyl, etc. Sour on the palate but not puckering like a lambic would be. Knocked a few points off overall impression because this is 5% ABV and the style is typically about half that. A good beer, nevertheless; very refreshing although almost too big to be a session beer (and probably too sour for most people to consume as a session!). FunkyBrewster (521), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours a lemonade color with almost no head. Aroma of wheat crisp, lightt lemon, some dirty sponge, a but funky, but all good stuff. Dry crisp apple cider. Flavor starts very fruity, crisp, cidery dry and sharp. a bit champagne like in the finish, dry and crisp. Medium body and a sharp but non obtrusive carbonation. Really interesting beer, complex but drinkable. shawnm213 (998), South Bend, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a big fizzy white head. Notes of lemon, wheat, white grapes, doughy malts, pear. This is awesome. Like a nice doughy sweet bread with chunks of pear up front, followed by a nice lemongrass and wheat twang. Beyond crisp and refreshing. Lively carbonation. The champagne of beers! If this was less than $6.59 a bottle, i would drink this a lot more. Maverick34 (729), New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Not a huge fan of the style but this is probably the best I had. Poured yellow with moderate head. Nice and sour but not too much so. Good stuff. JoeinUccle (911), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Cheers Sebastian. Half-liter bottle pours a dull, hazy yellow-gold with nice white head. Nose of lemons, oranges, spring flowers and a yogurty edge. Lightly sweet taste, tangy, just a bit tart with just a touch of bitterness. Incredibly refreshing. Ought to be drunk by the gallon. jeff789 (422), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Effervescent, lively, golden yellow, slightly hazy, with a big white headd that slowly fades.. Aroma of grass, hay, lemon, mildly aromatic... Grass/Hay dominate a surprisingly sweet maltiness, with a mild tartness that follows... Very lively, very carbonated, almost sodalike... I would like to try this with the syrups, a hint of fruitiness would improve this for me immensely....
