| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Golden-yellow in colour, thin white coloured head, light lacing. The aroma is lightly acidic and sour, wheaty, floral, grassy, herbal. The flavour is sharp, mild sourness, some cheese, herbal, lots of lemon citrus. Mildly acidic mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes tangy, citrus, acidic and dry.
Pretty nice, a stronger Berliner in terms of alcohol % but you wouldn’t know it. An excellent thirst quencher.
500ml bottle obtained in a trade with kkearn, thanks Keith.
Opened on December 25, 2007.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 11, 2009 Draft at hamiltons: Pours a processed grapefuit juice color starting out with a nice bright white head but settling very thin and really only a ring around the glass. Nose exhibits nice, lemony lactic twang. Flavors are wheaty with a bit of sourness, but really it tastes a lot more like a hefe than a berliner...there isn’t much if any graininess common with berliners...and the lemony twang is more wheaty and a product of a hefe-type yeast than any lactic funk. Its tasty of course, but within what I would call style guidelines of what I refer to as a berliner weisse, I don’t think so... cbkschubert (1981), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Bottle - Pours a hazy straw color with a two finger thick white head. Aroma is light grain and yeast (banana). Flavor is tart lemon. Not too tart though. No lingering sourness on the palate. Light to medium body. This beer was a pleasant suprise. I was expecting something like a Flemish Sour. Instead, got a real nice drinkable beer. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 1, 2007 Very light pour almost a yellow egg skin color w/ a good deal of cloudiness and a huge white head very frothy made up of some nice small bubbles w/ a good lacing. Aroma has some odd fruity notes that I wasn’t expecting hints of lemon grass and bread a tiny touch of citrus hints of clove. Palate is pretty light, somewhat avg. Flavor has some definate lemon peel to it, some light touches of bread. Light stuff. Pretty good. Snojerk321 (1962), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2009 Bottle from South Bay Drugs. Pours a mostly clear gold with a good sized white head. Aroma is slightly funky with some lemon peel, wheat and yeast. Flavor is tart citrus with a crisp finish, very lively carbonation. hophead75 (1957), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2008 Pours a hazy golden in color with a small off white head. Aroma of lacto sourness, grain, tart fruits. Taste is nice and tart with a moderate amount of lactic sourness- tart citrus, wheat, sour apple. Carbonation is lively, and the body is a bit more than I am used to in Berliner Weiss’s, but this is good stuff. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Grapefruit and other fruity aromas off this hazy yellow pour with a really nice head. Flavors were tart fruits with cherry, lemon, and grapefruit mostly. Definitely easier to drink than the other Berliner I had. Very good. Can’t imagine needing syrup with this beer. beerbill (1953), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 15, 2008 16.9 oz. bottle. Pours a pale yellow-gold with a moderate-large white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left a few spots of lace. Very pleasant aroma of lemos with a few notes of wheat. The lemon aroma is both mildly tart and sweet. The flavor is equally lovely with lemon that is again both tart and sweet along with some wheat and yeast. Nicely carbonated and lively on the palate. This is a thoroughly enjoyable beer.
As an aside, I would like to try using this beer to make a sorbet. I’ve made champagne sorbet, which is excellent as an intermezzo. I think this beer would be excellent for that.
