Aroma is sharp wheat, lemon, yeast, and vanilla with a touch of earthiness. Taste is sharp wheat & citrus followed by some acidity and tartness (though not even close to what I was expecting). The finish is reminiscent of tart lemonade. This tastes similar to my homebrewed wit that had sauer malt added to it. Very refreshing. Juelze (920), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma is of tart fruit and some tangy wheat and some yeast esters. Flavor is much the same but this is a refreshing and subtle Berliner Weiss which is more enjoyable compared to others I’ve sampled. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2008 Bottle from Friar Tuck in Champaign and shared with barleyPops. Pours a hazy straw color with a white 1-finger head. Nice aroma somewhat characteristic of a wheat-beer: yeasty and somewhat spicy. It also had just a light hint of funkiness to it. I hadn’t read any descriptions and didn’t know what to expect with the style, so I was surprised to have a sour taste meet my tongue. The light sourness mixed well with the esters and spices of the wheat beer and made for an interesting drink. I’m definitely not into sours, but I did enjoy this one. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 5, 2007 The aroma was citric and lactic tartness with a strong estery fruit presence. Soft wheat characteristics broke through the ever present head and a bit of malt character. The beer was lightly hazy pale golden with a head that fell in a moderate fashion, but bubbles that kept on giving off CO2. The flavor was mild and tart with wheat and a bit of caramel. The flavor had a strong citric flavor which was quite refreshing in it’s orange characteristic. The body was medium and a bit big for a Berliner Weiss. The carbonation was moderately high and the beer had a creaminess through the tart flavor on the palate. The finish was dry with lasting tart orange citrus flavors into the aftertaste and beyond. Overall a darn nice beer, but a little different than other BW out there. 16.9 ounce bottle. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Bottle (500ml). Cloudy yellow, huge foamy white lasting head. Sour fruit, yeast, funky spice, I get the lactic character. Oh, my that’s nice - light wheat beer, with mildly acidic fruit (strawberry!), and lemon sourness and yeast .... really pleasant. Light body, carbonation and acidity, quick finish, but while it’s on your palate it’s a nice ride. jcr (1190), Jasper, Indiana, USA

Hazy, yellow body with a fizzy white, diminishing head. The aroma is malty with some grain. Notes of lemon, clove and apple. Light hint of yeast in the form of cobwebs. In addition, you can almost smell the acidity. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately acidic. Very light bitterness. The finish is tart and lightly sweet. Medium body and watery texture with a lot of carbonation. Delicious.
