Heavy finish, lots of wheat. Lighter and refreshing. I really like this style! FarFromHome (84), Philadelphia, Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 7, 2009 How good this beer is really depends on when in the bottle you get to it. The top half is light and champagne-like; the bottom half has a fruity taste and looks... well, like semen. I’d go out of my way for the top half of a bottle. Not so much the bottom half. thill25 (218), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 15, 2008 Poured from a 50cl bottle at GOBF ’08...poured hazy golden yellow w/ a quickly diminishing fizzy white head. Nose of citrus, green apple, sour white grapes, yeast, and some grains. The flavor is a well represented mix of the above with no one flavor being dominant. The beer is sweet, but has an acidic tartness to it. The palate was on the lite side of medium bodied with a champange like carbonation. This was a nice treat in the heat we had that day! Very refreshing! lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2008 Clear yellow with a fizzy white head and fervent visible carbonation. Dry acidic fruity character aroma. Lingering acidic taste some tart citrus notes. Smooth body and a strong lifting carbonation to a dry finish. LilBeerDoctor (1530), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a fizzy white head. Aroma of lots of spices, yeast. Smells like a witbier. Flavor of initial carbonation, yeast/bread, spices, with a slightly sour finish. Not as sour/tart as I’d expected from a berliner weisse and a little bit spicier. Still quite tasty and very drinkable. MrChopin (687), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2009 Bottle thanks to lithy! Transparent, zesty gold, puffy white head, but by the end of the bottle, it’s murky yellow and tepid. Nose is rather un-aggressive but still pretty cohesive with lemon, wheat, and cream. Also a little funky. Tart lemon and yogurt rule the flavor, some minor grain and wheat near the aftertaste. Palate is nice and full, very zesty, but the finish is pretty short. Nice example here, and refreshing palate and carbonation are clutch, but it’s not the best example. buzzoven (333), Japan
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Bottle purchased from Sam’s on recommendation from my brother. Clear light yellow in colour; lots of tiny bubbles fdloating upward to the whispy head. White wine and grapefruit on the nose. Taste and mouthfeel lean more towards a champagne feel with the carbonation tickling the tongue. There is a vinegar taste and a tartness in the flavour but it is balanced out by a slight earthy tone. I was detecting a little bit of a Farmhouse Ale character here as well. A great beer highlighted by choice food pairings. My recommendation: Brillat Savarin cheese. Perfect. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 20, 2009 I’ve had this bottle sitting in my fridge forever. Pours lemony light yellow from the 25oz. bottle: Nose is light vinegar, yeast, granny smith apple, and big on citrus. Taste is similar with added fruit tones. A little watery, but still drinkable. Not a huge fan of this style, therefore I’m unfamiliar with it’s bouquet of flavors, but I appresh the traditional make of it. Drinkability: Light, citrus, tart. Refreshing. Rebuy: Sure. #202 on 20112009, DG.
