Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 30, 2009 On tap. Opaque dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy, beige nitro head. Discreet aroma of hard roasted malt and licorice. Rather light in body with a low carbonation - due to the nitro - and hence a soft mouthfeel. Notes of licorice and hard roasted malt, but also a light fusty edge. Has a light malt bitterness in the finish. 100709 yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 25, 2009 From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a small creamy and tan head. Classic nitro pour. Hardroasted and dark malty aroma, light coffeeish. Creamy mouthfeel. Quite sweet and toffee roasted caramel malt towards dark breadish. A bit thin in the mouthfeel for the finish but with a nice lingering roasted malt flavour and light bitterness coming through. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Jul 19, 2009

nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Jul 1, 2009 Draft at the Brewery. Nearly black in color with a tan nitro head. Aroma of roast and coffee. Flavor more of the same, a little sweeter than Guinness but not very dissimilar. Dry finish. AtlAggie (131), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 23, 2009 Tap. Deep dark brown, small tan head. Aroma is soy sauce, coffee, roasted malts, and chocolate. Aroma is better than the flavor, which is thin for a stout--thin mouthfeel too. Flavor strongly of chocolate and roast coffee. Uncomplicated. baraciisch (138), USA Jun 15, 2009 Dark black in color with a tan head... Flavor is roasted malts with crisp clean finish... Guinness clone... Aroma faint of roasted malts... Average beer. SamGamgee (1395), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Sep 7, 2008 On tap at 21A, 4.2% abv for this batch. What can I say, it’s a nitro stout and looks the part. Super dark red (black) with the whole cascading bubble number down pretty well, and a dense, fake tan head. Light aroma of cocoa powder and some roast. The flavor is roasty and pretty dry, with a nice bitter chocolate flavor and some coffee lingering in the finish. More malt then you would get in an Irish import, and a touch more sweetness. My dad said he wanted it dryer, but then it would taste like the black water that Guinness passes of on us these days. I enjoyed the flavor, but the nitro thoroughly killed the mouth-feel for me; it was just flat and lifeless, with a fake creamy feel. I know that this would be more enjoyable out of a regular tap, but I also know how well nitro works as a marketing tool for dry stouts these days. Juancho (225), Clearwater Beach, Georgia, USA Sep 4, 2008 A nice deep dark dry stout. Just a great session beer, not much to set it aside, but i’s a well done stout.
