Aromas of bread and malts, with very little hop aroma. Tastes of sweet sugars with a little bit of a floral and grass bitter finish. Not bad, but nothing too outstanding. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 2, 2009 As advertised, this IPA is along East Coast or English traditions, and it is excellent, with a firm hoppy character but restrained bitterness backed with nice maltiness.
It’s deep, clear red with a medium, pale tan head thinning quickly to a foamy ring, it creates weak, thin lace.
The aroma is juicy, citrusy, malty, and toasty. It has hitns of plum, earth, leaf and yeast. Malty and hoppy, it has both English and American/Wst Coast elements.
The taste is juicy and zesty with orange, light leafiness, earth and hint of English yeatiness. Lightly caramelly, it has toasty, fruity sweetness. The bitterness just takes over at the finish and leafy bitterness lingers on top of light, fruity sweetness.
