| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2009 Pours a transparent dark golden bronze with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramely malts with a mild grassy and grapefruity hop character. Starts with pretty good fullness and malty sweetness with a pleasant citrusy hop balance before a crisp, bittersweet finish. Could use a little more hoppy assertiveness, but is still quite drinkable. mattmc1973 (305), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 3, 2009 12 oz can received in a trade a while back, poured into a tulip. A bit old, so lack of freshness may affect scores, but we’ll see. Pours clear amber with creamy, frothy off-white head. Aroma of very sweet caramel malt and floral/citrus hops. Taste is very sweet and caramel-ish, with some sweet fruit and pine. Crisp medium mouthfeel. Very good, I’d like to taste it fresh! bvc (310), Kenmore, Washington, USA

I have had this numerous times since it showed up in the WA market a few months ago, but figured it is time to rate it. Nose is biscuity pineapple and malty peach. Tastes like a cracker up front. Moves into some citrus and tropical fruit and then malt and piney bitterness. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA

Rich malts but not overly malty. Moderate bitterness. Zingy hop finish. Not overly exciting but it’s a solid beer. williamherbert (466), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Cloudy pineapple juice color. Big foamy head. Great head retention. Specky lace.
Citrus aroma; orange/grapefruit. Puckery pale malt.
Pungent hoppy flavor. Fruity with a bitter citrus bite. Some bready, roasted malts as it warms up.
A little bite on the swallo; thick like an Imperial IPA. Beautiful and citrusy. mansquito (836), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Really light color for an IPA, being golden and all that. White head. Piny hops in the aroma. Taste is pretty hoppy and leaves an aftertaste. Malt backbone along with a pretty generic citrus taste. This is a legit good IPA and has a high alcohol content for additional points when in comes to value.
