Pours deep golden with a cream colored head. Big pineapple citrus nose with a caramel sweetness. Flavor was the same but a bit more subtle. Lasting bitter finish.

A very good double IPA, although was "Palin" like Sarah in comparison to Bear Republic Racer X, which I had next to it. Good sweet malt, piney citrusy hops, yada yada yada it is a west coast double IPA. Some minor off-flavor I could not put my finger on, but that was not a deal-breaker. This was still a great beer.

Draft @ City Beer, SF. Actually enjoyed "Brew Free" more...vibrant burning hot ember in color with small cotton head. Caramel and freshly cut floral bouquet in the nose...flavor is sweeter than I would want for the style. Needs that bright citrus pop and just doesn’t have it. Alcohol a little more evident than in the brewery’s other beers (and at 9.7%, I understand) but it took a bit away from this one.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear medium orange color with a white head. Some lace was left behind on the glass. Pleasant enough aroma including the likes of flower blossom, orange, and a hint of caramel. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with mild to moderate bitterness. Citrus and alcohol dominated the flavor with some pale malts and apricot in the background.

Tap at brewpub in SF. Almost like wine. Smooth yet malty and hoppy. Reddish color. I had two tulips and I was very happy ;-)
