On tap at the 2007 GABF: Pours a transparent bright golden with a full-lacing off-white head. Good, fresh piny hoppy aroma has a touch of sweet pale malt. Fairly full bodied with a decent crystal malty sweetness and good fresh hoppy balance toward a crisp, drier bittersweet finish. A good double IPA.

Lightly cloudy copper pour, off white head, great lace. Big floral and citrus hop aroma, a fresh rich sweet scent w/ a caramel back. Well coated oily palate. Big hop flavor, berries, citrus, fruity, some cereal, lightly alcoholic. Small bitter finish w/ a good caramel back. Good stuff.

Half pint on tap at the brewpub. Pleasant hoppy aroma with mixed hops--a little citrus, hempy, pine, and spicy aromas. A spell of sweetness in the aroma is also present. Transparent orange body with a small, off-yellowish head. Weird, almost astringent start that is kind of spicy and peppery with hops. Becomes a little orange-like and medicinal. Decent malts in the middle before a lightly ethanolic piney hop flavored finish. Ok, but nothing outstanding.

Simply a BEER SNOB beer. Looks and smells nice, with a medium amber pour and very floral juicy apricot, hoppy aroma. But taste is overwhelmingly bitter. Grapefruit rind bitterness, and even more bitter than Dogfish Head’s 90 minute IPA, which I actually liked and though was more balanced. This is just bitter hell, and no normal people off the street could drink this crap. Undrinkable I thought.

(On tap) Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Clean, piney hop aroma. Full, solid body with some caramel malt, but - again - otherwise completely dominated by lovely aroma hops. A massive and slightly perfumy bitterness rounds this off. 190307
