(On tap) Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Clean, piney hop aroma. Full, solid body with some caramel malt, but - again - otherwise completely dominated by lovely aroma hops. A massive and slightly perfumy bitterness rounds this off. 190307

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Solid pinewood and grapefruity hops aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavoured, good smooth mouthfeel. Bitter and fruity finish, very smooth and nicely balanced but certainly with some hops power.

On tap at the 2007 GABF: Pours a transparent bright golden with a full-lacing off-white head. Good, fresh piny hoppy aroma has a touch of sweet pale malt. Fairly full bodied with a decent crystal malty sweetness and good fresh hoppy balance toward a crisp, drier bittersweet finish. A good double IPA.

Clear amber, very good off-white head leaving lace. Hop bails, fresh hops, lunaria, grapefruit and fresh blossoms in the nose. Some base by malted grains, and then the best hops in the world kick in, in a great way. Sweet with a point of sourness, but very little bitterness, the hops are pure flavour. Citrus again, of course. Middle to well-bodied, slick, oily. Great IPA, the strenght of Steve & Shaun, and the rest of the Californian brewers. And this sample wasn’t even in the best of condition!
