Can from SL. I think I’d choose hell if it was between it and this beer. Brutal. And, I’m fairly tolerant to fond of some fruit beers. Pour was a hazy straw gold color with a decent sized head and active sedimentation (protein?). The aroma was wheaty and watermelon. The flavor was sour watermelons, some faint lemongrass, caramel, wheat grains. The mouthfeel was carbonated and full bodied. Man, this was among the worst furit beers I’ve ever had, intolerable, drain poured.

Dec 25, 2009 Can from Whole Foods (Union Square). Slightly red body with medium head. Fruity, strawberry nose. Very watery taste with slight taste of candied watermelon. Not very pleasant. A drain pour, I’m afraid.

Dec 22, 2009 Drank on 12/21/2009. Can from Whole Foods in Arlington, VA. Pours a hazy golden color. I had one in a glass, one out of the can - the one out of the can had more watermelon flavor to it. The flavor is okay for a hefeweizen fruit beer, kind of a hefe with a slight watermelon aftertaste. Probably a better beer to enjoy outside in the summer rather than inside after a blizzard.

Dec 21, 2009 from wholefoods in VA. Pours foggy, standard hefe, mild nose or light wheat, some watermelon. Palate is mildly watermelon, slightly sweet, decent overall wheat taste. Well made beer, i just don’t tend toward sweet hefe’s.

Dec 7, 2009 cloudy straw colored beer, with a watermelon wedge if you get it at the brewery. the first time i had it, tasted like fresh cut grass. upon subsequent sessions, it tastes like a good wheat beer brewed with watermelons, as it should. the essence is more of the rind than the fleshy red part. so good, though. can drink this forever

Dec 6, 2009 Thanks to Bob for the can! Poured slightly hazy bright golden with a great initial cap of white head that settled quickly. The aroma picked up tart, lemony wheat with juicy watermelon rising as it warmed up.. very summery, but it still worked. The flavor found dry, tangy wheat throughout, with watermelon again giving significant influence.. tart lemon zest and watermelon seeds on the finish. Lighter-bodied with a crisp feel on the palate.. this was an interesting and enjoyable brew.

Dec 6, 2009 12 oz can. pours a very light crackery golden with a somewhat lasting moderate head. Aroma is a slight sweet extract watermelon- fruity, not as grassy or phenolic or harsh as you can get with lots of old real watermelon added to the ferment, stil pretty light and crackery. Flavor is even less watermelon, somewhat cracker- and toasty malts, grassy, light lemon hint and a crisp clean somewhat bitter finish- light and easy drinking. Not bad, but nothing great.

Dec 4, 2009 33cl can @ Jens C.G. Pours unclear pale yellow with a small creamy white head. Nose is sweet of fruit, butter and watermelon. Medium and smooth palate. Chewing gum - pink Hubba Bubba style. Quaffable.
