Ungstrup (10824), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 15, 2008 Canned at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. An unclear yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wheat, watermelon, lactic acid, and youghurt. The flavor is sweet with notes of watermelon and youghurt, leading to a dry wheaty finish.
doubleo (668), San Diego, California, USA Jun 30, 2008 On-tap at 21A. Pilsner glass with a watermelon wedge. Pours cloudy, light orange/yellow with a moderate white head, some lace. Smells of bready malt and slight watermelon. Tastes bready malty with a nice mellow watermelon flavor through the middle to the finish. Medium body, crisp carbonation. Funny thing was when I ate the piece of watermelon and then drank the brew it tasted weird. 19641948 (476), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Jun 12, 2008 Plain ol’ alias "Watermelon Wheat" for me. Pours a pale yellow gold with a tremendous white head. Aroma is sweet and summery. Tame and mild, but a definite watermelon scent. Clean. Thin flavor, some wheatiness and mild grains, but a light and airy watermelon character. Fruitiness doesn’t overwhelm as you go on. Refreshing. ABUSEDGOAT (1863), California, USA Apr 21, 2008 Draft at brewpub: Hazy golden color. Aroma is basically the watermelon that was put in my glass. Light malt notes, not much else. Creative, but bland. BlackDonald (723), On a beer trip all over the USA, California, USA Apr 18, 2008 ABBF ’08 - Eh, this beer was what I expected it to be, but then I am slightly biased because of canned beer 1 and for 2, I hate watermelons. Somewhat watery, with no real or substantial wheat qualities, somewhat grainey, just an ever so slight hint of watermenlon which is somewhat sour and leads to a disappointing finish. The only thing reminiscent of a wheat beer is the slight bit of bubblegum flavor. Bland!
