BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jan 13, 2008 Summer 2006 - Just a dumbed down golden ale, so those of you who drink crappy macro lagers have something to drink when you come to a place like this. I could come across no distringuishing factors to tell me that rye was in this other than the printed descriptor notes. tjthresh (1318), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Aug 4, 2007 On tap at the brewpub
Pale yellow with some white head. Light, almost no, aroma. Rye is barley detectable. Hell, I may have just imagined it to have something to say about the aroma. The rye flavor comes through nicely. Easy to drink. This is basicly nothing more that an "every man" beer. Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Apr 26, 2006 On tap at the 2006 Best of the Midwest Brewers’ Festival. Light yellow in color with a little bitty head. Light in flavor, but has flavor. Clean finish. Subtle lager yeasty aroma. Not at all like a pilsner, if that’s what they were shooting for, they hit it. Just like the KU basketball team these days, Laryville Lyte is harmless. KUEric (570), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Jan 21, 2006 On Tap (in Larryville): Light and fluffy, barely there barely anything there. Definitly nothing offensive. The fact that its an ale rather shocks me because it makes it that much more dissappointing. Though there was definitly some pronnounced apple in the taste. A tiny little touch of hops. A shame to the legend that is Larryville. KAggie97 (1918), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Nov 5, 2005 GABF 05. Pours gold with a faint hops aroma. Flavor has a bizarre blood-like finish; very metallic tasting. Palate is thin and watery. Blah.
