Commercial Description:
Blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old lambic. Fermented and lagered in oak vessels. In this bottle the young yeast is brought to sleep ('ingedoesjeld') so the original lambic flavors are preserved. This beer has no head, just like lambic. The lambic is brewed with 60% barley, 40% wheat, last years hop

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, jerc, mabel & tupalev - courtesy of jerc & mabel. Hazy red-gold with no head and a still body. Aroma is funky and citric, with some cheesy notes. Thin body with very little carbonation. Flavour of lemon juice and tart apples, quite acidic but oddly refreshing, and a mellow funkiness in the finish. Nice stuff.

Bottle. Clear medium orange color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light adcidic - sour, moderate wood and oak, apricot - tropic fruits. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate acidic with a average duration. (A bit boring and quite one dimensional) Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. (070308)

From a 375mL Bottle. Generously shared by cquiroga. Slightly hazy, pale peach skin colored pour with a thin, wispy white head. Lightly sour, pale fruit aromas of pears, nectarine skins, strawberry, and pomegranite seeds. Amongst the fruitiness lurks a moderate lactic sourness with a touch of cheesy pedio funk. Medium light bodied, gently carbonated mouthfeel with a moderate acidity. Some brighter peach flavors than those found in the nose jump out right away, along with some mild apple cider and fresh pear. Perception of slight acetic qualities, especially on the front of the palate, but this adds a little zip and crispness to take the place of the lack of carbonation. Great combination of fresh fruit and aged sourness. Flavors of strawberry and pear skins linger in the finish with a mild cheesy funk. Thanks for sharing, Chris!

Bottle from RadioMGB. Gold, very thin white head. Nose is woody lemon, strawberry & funk. Flavor is lemon, oak, a hint of bitterness, bright fruits, funky tartness. Finish is tart but not dry (As far as lambics go) Very nice. Hopefully this won’t be overly expensive when it hits the states.

(3/3/08) Bottle at Oud Arsenaal in Antwerp. Bottled 2/17/06. Almost clear orange color with a small white head. Citrus aroma with wood and some barnyard. Sour flavor with lemon and some bitter grapefruit hints. Medium-bodied. A good lambic but not amazing. Maybe I would’ve enjoyed it a bit more if I wasn’t a bit "Lambiced-out" this day after waking up with a nasty stomach ache from yesterday’s Lambics. 8/4/7/3/15=3.7

Re-rate 11/16/09: Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks zvikar. Bottled on 2/23/06. Hazy dark orange with no head. Aroma of barnyard, citrus, vinegar, a bit of sweat and wood. Refreshing sour flavor, citrusy, musty, cellary with leathery and sweaty notes, some light sweetish tones and fruits. Light astringency. Medium-bodied. 8/3/8/3/16=3.8

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, GregClow, Blankboy, Mabel, and Jerc, courtesy of Jerc and Mabel. Very murky hazy yellow, no head. Mild funky yeast and sour aroma. Good taste - acidic, sour, lemon, dry - finishes very smooth. Juicy, citrusy. Good stuff, maybe not as complex as some others we had at this tasting, but still a damn fine rare treat.
