| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Jun 21, 2009 Had on draft at the Dilly Deli. Bottled in Feb. of 2006. Thanks for the suggestion, Peanut! May be my beer of the year in 2009. Light amber in color, cloudy with an aroma of serious funk and flavors that are overwelmingly tart with that funky, musty, yeasty flavors of a master Gueuze. This beer was definitely aged in oak, was crisp and refreshing and had flavors that lingered on the palate for a long time! A killer beer. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Another old rating. Poured flat with a golden color. Very potent sourness and some citrus coming through. The flatness in this one actually pulled a lot of aroma out of this and made it more potent. Nice beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2009 Bottle, Poechenellekelder. Hazy bright orange. Mild dry aroma of fruit skins, seeds, and rinds. Palate is nearly flat. Super dry. Not tart. Has superlative citrus rind and pith character. Lemons. Only a slight hint of welcome acidity. Very satisfying. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2009 16oz bottle. Pours a hazy light amber. No head. Almost not carbonation. Nose is light vinegar acidity with some lemon zest, and tart spiciness. Flavor is sour but not bitingly so. Lots of lemon and hay notes. Some funky sour notes at the end. No sulfur notes, and only light hints of funky cheese and apple to finish off with a light super dry sourness. Almost totally flat but you don’t really miss the carbonation. This is a terrific gueze. oteyj (761), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2009 Pours a light hazy apricot with absolutely no head. Aroma is cider vinegar, citrus, clove, and tart overripe fruit. Flavor is hay pasture, oaked accents, tart cherry, fermented apples, and the slightest malt sweetness. Palate is smooth; lack of carbonation provides a silky quality that finishes tart and dry. Very enjoyable. craftycarl21 (556), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2009 hazy apricot pour with no head or carbonation whatsoever. Acidity on the nose is less aggressive than many other lambics, and has notes of citrus, cider, spices- perhaps clove, and a definite overarching tart quality. Flavor maintains the sour lambic quality, and has grass, hay, and a woody note. Tartness is clearly present, but not overdone, and lingers nicely. Quite a nice lambic. 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2009 Pours to a flat looking apple juice body with no head. The aroma is pretty phenomenal. Sour starfruit, rhubarb, oak, lemons, and funky barns. The flavor is sweet and tangy. Oaken lemon zest and lemon water. Surprisingly not extremely tart. Some funky horse blanket things but mostly a clean lambic. Subtle flavors. Some nice malt shines through in some sips. The palate is flat and velvety and very easy drinking. Mild aftertaste and very subtle sourness. BlackForestCO (826), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2009 Bottle. Poured a lightly hazy bright golden-yellow color with a 1/4 inch, bubbly white head that eventually faded to a soft layer of bubbles. Aroma of dusty, earthy barnyard, leather, oak, funky horse blanket, and a yeastiness with some tart fruit (mostly lemon). Smooth, crisp entry with some tart citrus fruit (mainly lemon, like the aroma) with undertones of barnyard funk and horse blanket transitions into a moderate yeastiness with some dryness that lingers into the finish with some light notes of oak and earthy leather. Low carbonation, but the tartness and oak provide I nice dry, crisp bite on the palate. Overall a different, but still enjoyable gueuze that displays some complexity, but may have been a bit more enjoyable with some more carbonation.
