Anker (305), Hillerød, Denmark Oct 22, 2009 Bottle 2000, shared with Andreasen11 and plovmand at Akkurat.
It pours perfectly, an hazy orange colour with a huge beautiful champagne like white head.
The aroma is great and of course very dry, with weak notes of ripe grape, wood, dust and grapes.
The flavour is a little acrid at first, then followed by dry ripe grape, and grapes/smooth red wine with a touch of humid cellar and dust.
Lovely! kkearn (994), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 3, 2009 750mL bottle, bottled 10.18.2000. Enjoyed at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden on Sept 24 2009. Pours yellow gold, topped with a medium sized white head that diffuses rapidly to a very thin cover. Aroma of lemon, grain, dust, light tartness, white grape, oak and cork. Flavor is slightly more tart than the aroma, with accompanying notes of white grape, citrus (especially grapefruit), dust, and tropical fruit. Active, champagne like carbonation cleanses the palate with each sip. The acidity lingers nicely. Awesome stuff. plovmand (1588), Helsinge, Denmark Sep 14, 2009 Bottle at Akkurat - 2000 edition. Golden body with a steady white head. Very pearly carbonation. Citrus, grapes, light dusty aroma. Very dry. The flavour is very dry acidic, with grape, fruit, light dust and citrus notes. Highly carbonated - almost like champagne. Very vinous. Perfectly balanced. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 1, 2009 At Akkurat, Stockholm, bottled 2000-10-18 (1 year old Lambic with Italian Malvasia grapes) Hazy golden color; big fluffy head. As usual from Drie Fonteinen it has an impressive aroma: barnyard, cobwebs, citrus fruits, sweat; grapefruit and very light grapes; very light vanilla too, or cookies; pungent, persistent. The mouthfeel is sharply acidic, with strong grapefruit flavor; the body is quite strong in the beginning, surely more dry and aggressive at the end. The final, if possible, has a subdued residual sweetness; and of course a strong lemony character; pleasant astringency too at the very end. You can drink without stopping. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Mar 15, 2009 Bottle 75cl. [ Vintage 2000 ]. Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is grape sweet, wine, wood notes, barnyard. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a average to long duration, and a dry finish. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is looks flat but in your mouth it feels lively - fizzy. [260908] anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Jul 3, 2007 Bottle @ Akkurat, Stockholm. Pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Has a fruity tart and slightly malty aroma with some hints of grapes. Sweet malty tart flavor with some woody hints and hints of grapes. Sweetish but tart fruity finish with hints of those grapes. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada May 30, 2007 Akkurat, vintage 2000. Classiest old bottle (said that a few times recently). The drink is opaque, pale golden with an initially large, uniform white head that diminishes to a firm cover. The most appealing nose takes some time getting used to. The Malvasia grape varietal, which I’m not very familiar with having never had any wine made from it, comes out rather funky, almost mineral with peppery Alsace-like overtones and exotic tropical fruits, pineapple being upfront. Boastful tart intricacies in the shapes of a fruit basket basically. Besides, the usual drie fonteinen glorious citrus extraction is part of the meetup where fine, clean white grapefruit and lemon notes mingle along the wheat to ensure perfect drinkability. Perfect classic Drie Fonteinen mouthfeel comprising the most refined texture and fitting, still active carbonation. Underated if anything, this is a masterpiece of restricted, integrated, beautiful flavors, almost subtle for a lambic. Never agressive, sure of itself, quite dry, quite tart yet certainly never overly so an remaining quite accessible for outsiders I would assume. Classy diplomacy and age resistance all the way. radiomgb (1920), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jul 28, 2006 750ml bottle labelled Drie Fonteinen Druiven Geuze at the <a
href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/sweden/stockholm/akkurat/95.htm target=blank>Akkurat in Stockholm, Sweden. Hazy golden-amber in colour, medium sized white head, some lacing. The aroma is quite tart and sour, green apple skins and red grapes, light citrus. The flavour is tart and sour upfront, after that the citrus (lemons, oranges peel) comes in, peaches, grapes and apples. Moderate acidic mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes lightly acidic, long, very dry at the very end. Fantastic stuff. Very refreshing and sour, excellent balance, this is great stuff.
