Consumed at Drie Fonteinen, Beersel, May 2006 Dark brown color, murky. Large bubbled tan head. Nose of apples, sour pears, sugary grains and honey. Sweet graham cracker flavors, chewy caramel as well. Sweet and oily and slick on the palate, with a mild bite. Didn’t really do a lot for me.
Rerate at Spinnekopke in May 2008: lucious brown cloudy appearance, raw brown sugar and lambic nose, dense flavor, moderately sweet, pure and raw throughout. Lovely. Probably my favorite faro outside of Cantillon. Rating improved from 3.1 to 3.7. fonefan (4328), Ulfborg, Denmark Jul 16, 2008 Draught @ Drie Fonteinen Restaurant, Beersel 1650, Belgium. Murky, dark dark brown body with a big long foamy light tan head with heavy lattice lacing. Sweet rounded malt flavour with a bit of mince meat and medicinal grains. Medium-full body is well-balanced and has interesting notes on all levels. Lovely and original, plus a great start for this Belgium trip.
