Bottle dated 14/02/2007, bought at the brewery store in July 2008, consumed on 21/11/2009. Appearance is bright purple, starts clear and progresses to cloudy/chunky due to my poor pouring skills. Soda-pop head that starts vigorously but disappears in seconds to leave no bubbles or lacing. Smell changes every nanosecond. Vinegar, sour cherries, horse, raspberries, dust, and about a million other things - all at the same time. Taste was amazing. Defies words. Sweet and sour all at once. Evident fruit. Must, dust and mold, and sweaty animals. Vinegar, the high end balsamic type from Modena. Mouthfeel is orgasmic. Drinkability is top of the line, not just for lambics, but for all beer. Nothing short of miraculous.

750...capped. wow. thanks, sprinkle, among others, for sending one out. this is a frickin incredible beer. pours a murky raspberry red with no head or lace. humongous tart raspberry nose. some wood showing. creamy medium body, fairly flat. berries and wood on the mid palate...not insanely complex, but thoroughly delicious. long tart finish.

750ml foiled, corked, caged and dated 2/14/2007; shared by after4ever. Hazy rose with beautiful lacy small bubbles. Horse blankets, raspberry, oak, minerals, awesome! Super effervescent up front with earthy wood, minerals, aspirin, tart berry...so f’ing good. Barnyardie funk as well...thanks Tom, I love this!

Bottle@Home. Raspberry and cherry pits aroma. Hazy, red colour, pinkish small h, fair lace. Sweetish, sour, light bitter, raspberry, woody, tart. Flavourful and balanced. Great stuff!

Pours a deep dark ruby red color with dark mahogany edges and a slightly pinkish one finger fizzy head that quickly fades into a lasting ring and some visible carbonation bubbles. Barnyard funk aroma that is very earthy with some ashy oaky wood. The raspberries have faded a bit by this point and there is a somewhat scorched earth, moldy musty character. The fruit is there although it seems concentrated and I could swear that I could even smell the seeds. Extremely tart, sour and funky. Very puckering and lip smacking while only mildly acidic. Lots of sweet dry raspberry buried beneath the barnyard lactic funkiness. As in the aroma, the raspberries have faded but they are still evident. This beer is intensely sour but is somewhat balanced by the sweetness of the berries. There is also some earthy oak and vanilla notes and a very sour puckering dry acidity with some more acidity coming through. The burnt ashy wood character from the aroma comes through a bit. I can’t believe how sour this beer has become with the aging. I wish I could have tried this fresh to see how prominent the berries were. Either way this beer is very complex with lots of delicious flavors bouncing off of one another. I picked something else up with each sip. I’m not the biggest fan of raspberry beers or raspberries for that matter but this beer was very impressive. All sour heads should seek this one out.

This was a really nice bright pink color with a tenacious head that was only slightly less colorful. The smell was delicious raspberries with a hint of lambic. The flavor was really outstanding like eating raspberry jam with huge chunks of raspberries. The fruit component was fantastic. i didn’t detect much funkiness and it was only slightly tart but overall I was very impressed. This is probably the best fruit lambic I have had if not a close second to Cantillon Fou Foune. Amazing beer. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-22-2009 01:17:57

BPW #87 Served from a 750 mL bottle dated 2/14/07. Thanks to Andy for sharing this one. Appearance is a rich raspberry red with some dying bubbles. The aromas are sour wild yeasts and creamy raspberry. The oak flavors are mild and nice. They are followed with a solid tart raspberry. Mouth is really full of effervesces. A solid brew that I was glad to get to try.

Dan’s Bachelor Party Extended Weekend Rating #83 of 90. 2007 Bottle shared with danielcurtis81. Pours cloudy reddish brown, nice dancing carbonation bubbles. Sour raspberries and lambic tart come forward on the nose. Sweet ’n’ sour taste hits first followed by good sour raspberries, nice oak undertones and good soft carbonation...plus funk.
